Not at all !!
I was Rudely Awakened at the squark of dawn, with the words "Oy ! I'm off to the Market. The squirrels are scrambling about in the tree. Keep an eye on them, will you? And here's your coffee"
Since then, it's been nothing but Activity of all sorts.
See you later, as the temps rise.
Well, is Ranger Rick with one of you or did he get lost in the bakery department?
Hmmmm, I fear the worst !
Overdosing on Apple Fritters in the Dead of Night can sometimes lead to Friterism of a most severe nature.
The symptoms include, but are not limited to, Vapours, Vertigo and Verbal Verifications.
There is only 1 cure, and that is Abstinence for 40 days and 40 nights.
I think he's Doomed.....
(abstinence from Fritters, of course. All other Abstinences only exacerbate the condition)
Things are better off than I had feared.
I was worried that it was fritterosis or fritteritis!
That would be dread indeed!
(y'oughta stop by and have Sunday brunch w/Doc! 'cept I think he's not there)
Yeah, I'm a little worried. One of the symptoms is amnesia and Deja Vu at the same time.
Well...
Apparently the story behind this nonsense song is that he was working in a coffee house and wondering if anyone was actually paying attention...so he started making up random lyrics.
"Get crazy with the cheese whiz!"
Back to my regularly scheduled programming.
"I know things that you don't
I've done things that you won't
There's nothing like a trail of blood
to find your way back home
I was waiting for my hearse,
what came next was so much worse,
it took a funeral to make me feel alive"
Acoustic this time:
:)
Thanks!
Off for a while...
After 3 hours of tests of all kinds diagnosis was kidney infection, started him on Cipro and massive fluids so we were back home at 0400 this morning.
Slept till late, worked in the gardens, slept some more, and then got another call, temp went whacko again even with three kinds of medicine, blood in his urine, not a good sign, watching the grands again while his parents raced them to the hospital this time. Waiting on word again. Crazy times.
Personally, I think daughter feeds him too much health food, may have to sneak him some Apple Fritters in the hospital. :)
Will keep you posted. Out again.
At your service, el cappymon.
Somehow, I've kept a good memory.
:)
Wow...that's some crazy stuff going on.
Hope things get better...and "quickly".
Hope his stay was a quick one!
True dat!
Yeah, RTL, that health food will gum up the works for sure!
Hope SIL is better soon.
Okay, just a brief stroll to check the rigging.
All is well.
-later.
Yup- what he said......
Best wishes to the Young Man and all.
Sounds pretty Dread, all that.
Good to see you drop by.
Got it.
Thank you!
Beautiful morning.
Plan to be as unproductive as possible today.
Thinking of lighting a fire and cooking a pork roast.
GPS coordinates and schedule please.
:)))
No schedule. I start when I'm ready, and it's done when it's done!
Pcola, thanks and welcome.
Has been slower than normal lately as many of the regulars, myself included, have been rather busy.
I, for one, tend to have more energy for blogging when the weather is a bit cooler.
Going in tomorrow morning for my three hour "Endovenous Ablation" at 0730 hours. Will try to check in tomorrow afternoon depending on how goofy I still happen to be. Could be some fun reading! :)
I can already hear the one liners that will be here:
So Snake, I hear you were Ablated. Really?
You're not contagious are you?
Do you like glow in the dark now?
LOL
You already took all the easy lines.
Now we're gonna have to work at it.
Thanks for the update on SIL.
Hope all goes well for you tomorrow.
Keep an eye on the temp gauge and don't let them overcook you this time. Burnt snake don't smell all that great!
Heheheheheheh....
and they taste even worse. Well, so I've been told, you know.
Good to learn that SIL is on the road to recovery, Snake. Hope they find out what it was, so we Older Gentlemen can stay away from it.
Had a very nice day...
Moved several large bags of rotted Imortelle tree into a garden bed for the Lady to plant some ground orchids. And dug it all in and weeded and stuff.
Then I slowly (because it's Sunday) installed 2 boards alongside the new (they're actually old and refurbished) doors in the Studio, and installed a panel above that.
When I cut the panel, sanded, and was about to install it, it was removed from my grasp and returned 1/2 hour later with 4 squirrels drawn on it.
"What's this, then?" pondered I, aloud.
"Well" she said, "I thought you could jigsaw them out, like you did with the snake on the other one" .
That's all very well, because a snake is a long, gently curvy thing. BUT..
4 Squirrels have 16 feet, several toes on each foot, tightly coiled tails and little, "expressive" ears (to use the Artist's description).
Oh well.
No doubt my Rewards will be Many and Pleasant.
It's raining, so I'll start with a rum & coconut water.
And see what happens next.
Goodness me!
Are you attempting the NorthWest passage ?
Carry on, Goofy.
But watch out for Natives.
Hoping you can top off the tanks soon.
Don't worry about Goofy, he knows what he's about.
Long as the winds of November don't come early.
( 10 fritter points to whomever post the tune)
Happens.
Song says a lot.
2 AM and I'm still awake writing this song if I get it all down on paper it's no longer inside of me, threatening the life it belongs to...
Rest well folks, I'll likely be strolling the deck again between 0200 and 0400.
Take good care.
Me too !
And when it sauntered off to the west, it sat over the Andes and flashed for a good hour or so, as me and Lady Pott sat on the deck and sipped beverages while the squirrels came down from their tree and into the cage that hangs there.
Very Pleasant.
1 pkg double stuff Oreos
1 container peanut butter
1 mug of cold milk suitable for dunking.
Grasp Oreo firmly. Scoop up peanut butter with cookie. Dunk cookie in milk. Eat. Repeat as necessary, trying not to think that each one is probably 300 calories. Check that Pottery's squirrels are not chewing on the rigging. Go back to bed.
Thank You!
Happy October to you as well!
Oh, wait a minute. It's just the sound of RTLSNK being ablated!
Good luck man!
Thought I'd cruise the racks looking for a Utube of the procedure to post so we could all empathize with what Ranger Sp...er...Rick had in store for him this AM.
That would be keeping in line with my daughter's past instructions to me to develop my "emotional intelligence".
However..., after watching a few clips of something akin to a miniature version of the "Honey Badger" in a wet suit swimming up a vein with a blow torch, I decided some things are best left to the imagination.
:)
Yeah, I kinda agree. Loved your colorful description though.
Back atcha and good morning cappy.
Bro-in-law still has that old John Deere back hoe taking up center stage at his shop.
By soaking in Mystery oil, he's brought compression up from 20lbs to at least 60lbs on two cylinders. A little more and she should fire...hopefully.
At least we'll be able to see if the tranny is in good shape then.
If not, she gets cannibalized and parted out.
But until then...back to my boat project.
:)
Medical Report #587. (this blog is filled with them..)
Having kicked a Hard Innocuous Stump while barefoot and hustling yesterday, the Patient Complained loudly, got a shovel and removed The Offender.
Treated end of BigToe (right foot) with a cleaning solution, and Painfully went about his Chores, thinking "Hmmm, I'll lose that toenail fer sure.."
By bedtime, the Pain was quite Dread, and pain zappers were administered.
Slept badly. Did you know that your big toe plays a Most Dominant Part in the sleep process? Well, now you do !
Slithering out of bed this morning, The Patient realised that Hobble & Limp were the Order of the Day.
Multitudes of Diagnostic Procedures have suggested that the Impact on the end of the big toe has driven the bones within back to the joint where toe meets foot, damaging something within.
The Patient is taking the day off. Which means that YOU all will probably need to stay away from here, for fear of reading something akin to Drivel all day long.
So, watch out.
Wow, cannibalism and toe jam.
Never know what I'm gonna read when I get back here.
Do take care guys, seems this crew is contributing more than our share to the retirement funds of medical professionals lately! (in fact, I'm beginning to wonder if it's safe to hang out with you guys!)
:o)
Was pretty good actually.
Got away with doing very little!
This weekend's dismal weather, in our area, finally ended on a bit of a high note by late last night, when hubby and I finally caught a clear view of the nearly full "Harvest Moon". I wish our local street lamps illuminated as brightly for one could clearly see up and down the streets for a change. LOL! While driving up to nearby Derry, NH, in the afternoon, the autumnal colors seemed in or near peak. Usually, we don't see as much colorful foliage until, at least, the first full week of October has passed. We just hope this doesn't mean a jump into those frigidly cold winter months as well. At least, this week, we're expecting a pleasant reprieve from recent chillier than normal weather, as our daytime highs are expected to reach the lower to mid 70's! Sure would be nice returning to lighter clothes and lower home heating costs even for a week.
Hope your work week is as pleasant as your seemingly relaxing weekend!
Glad you got mooned! Plenty of moonlight here lately and some nice sunsets too!
The maples are still going strong here, bright green and happy! Like you, I'd like to see a nice slow transition to winter.
Yeah.
Pretty Dismal topics there.
Oh well. We try you know. We really do......
heheheheheh
