Hey Arkers, haven't checked in cause I have been CATCHING lobbys, (no not lynchen pollys)
Yesterday we were up at the cocks breath, yours truely was hung over after a bunch of Fosters, so no breakfast sandwiches or nothing. the boys only got coffee cause I had it ready to go the night before, I did how ever throw mayo, ham, cheese and bread in a bag and threw it in the cooler for later.
We got our limit of 18 yesterday for the 3 of us, and today we put the rods on the boat to go fishing but... hey lets just check out our spots again, pipes are the best plus a few holes and we got five. but bloody hell any little bit of debre was turned over, of course we turned it back, but what are some folks thinking. lobbys need a space to hide under, boggles the mind.
So that is the keys lobby report,
What news from The Captain of this ship ??
Have not seen hide nor hair of him for too long.
Wazzup with that, eh ?
Blame Shep, he said wookie and ear and I took it from there. On the bright side alcohol fixes everyting :)
One for the ditch from a temp bachelor :)
Hey it's nearly midnight and I still have my sunnies hanging on my neck.
I only just relized, cause when I open the cooler to get a beer, they are dangling so I can't see in the cooler. Oh did I mention it's night LOL
Yea there were a few temps a couple of nights ago, they may not be temps now, but prolly wish they still were :)
Edit, hey don't look at me like that, I got the T shirt
Heard from him by phone last night, that big storm they had the other day took out his internet connection.
Should be repaired soon he said. Angie is home from her trip so that should put a smile on his face again!
Getting out of the house today, two weeks is two long. :)
Can't ride the Harley yet, another three weeks at least. :(
Shep you got wookie ear?
No.
Pottery had Jumbie ear
:)
Good deal.
I'm having 3 pallets of mulch delivered to your job at noon.
Hurry up!!! You're behind. :)
BTW...Your Harley called my Harley last night. I think they're lonely...I hate it when they do that.
Mine definitely has a sibling rivalry going on with my boats. :)
Nothing more unmanly than a Harley feeling sorry for itself :)
The only good thing about mini season is that it only lasts a couple of painful days and then 98% of these idiots won't be back until next year.
And the Keys are so much more peaceful when school starts back.
Thanx, goofymon
"Ode to Joy"
This is what makes us human.
Warms the heart and waters the eye.
:)
AH !
Makes my heart soar like a Hok.
Thanks!
Busy day here.
Keep on the Good Foot. :):))
Off to watch the Opening Ceremony in London, via a space link, of course.
T&T have a pretty good chance at some medals again I'm glad to say.
A 30 member squad of--- athletes, shooters, shot-put, javelin, swimming, sailing, cycling and stuff.
See ya laters>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Good luck to you and your subjects Honorable and Most August Lord Pottery.
I love it when some obscure athlete from some beautiful small country walks up and cleans everyone's clock. :)))
Sure, I'd love to see USA and Canada do well, but I do look forward to an underdog winning the crowd's hearts.
Good luck to all the athletes. May they all perform at their very best.
Captain went ashore and has not been seen for a while.
I'll just "Ride Across the River" one more time.
My sentiments exactly.
The Opening Ceremony was quite spectacular.
I suppose it is a "must" that these events have to cost zillions, but in fairness to the ones that don't manage a Medal, at the least they can say "Hey, I was THERE and it was a Great Ceremony too!"
Looking forward to the Sprint events myself.
Those Jamaicans want to break more records........ we are hoping to push them along!
Rare 2fr1 ~~~~ watch your volume
Ah,,,,,,,, the good olde days, albeit some of you may be too old to remember it :)
Shocking Headlines
theshepster calls Ossymon to task
Dude, it was us "old guys" that invented those cotton pickin' gitfiddles they is a pickin' on.
Don't blame us if we wrote all the good rock n' roll worth writing and you young fellers' were left with this dribble.
ROFLMAO :))
ps. We understand. The wife is away and you and the pooch are living on tin cans and Hooters and all those preservatives have pickled el craniumundo.
Uh, Hooters ain't all "that" bad, eh?
:)))
Gone but not forgotten.
A hot and steamy one after drizzles early.
The Studio is filled with Babes and Chaps, laughing merrily and glazing pots for Raku firing.
My job?
Keep the gas-kiln raging all day long, which involves getting close and personal to 1750 F, for the entire day.
No doubt you will see posts on the main blog about a mysterious Increase in atmospheric temps during the day.
Well, you can smirk knowingly when you read them, as you will be "in the know" so to speak. It's only me.....
Well that explains how the darn mulch got on my driveway at least.
I told SugarBear I had ordered it of course.
It also explains the odd behavior the Harley has been doing.
I'll walk by it going to the Ford and when I
look back the antenna is moving back and forth.
The bike sits on a concrete floor and I did not hit the antenna as I went by it.
Very strange don't you think?
OK, 1750*F is hotter that the temps in Macon.
I won't complain about our little heat index of 108*F any more. :)
And you do this for fun, eh?
We had gotten to the second Stony Creek Pond at sunset. The Indian Carry was still ahead. The cooks whipped up a dinner of PBJs and after a brief rest and clean up we set out for Upper Saranac L. We had left supplies and dry ice here so we had some fresh food for the next leg. It was dark as we reloaded the canoes and set off in the light of new moon. From the rear war canoe came the strains of the " The Ride " from a cd player. Our paddles dipped silently, watched the light fade from the High Peaks off the bows. James F Cooper did a slow roll to starboard in resignation. Some years later this scene was repeated on Long L. As told to me by Cloudsplitter some 23 years ago.
On a day like this 18 years ago a slick of twelve canoes set out from the portage on the Raquette River at the head of Long L. The plan was to canoe, fish swim and eat and cover the water route from Blue Mountain to Lower Saranac in 8 days. It's 90 miles as the lure floats or dives the deeps. As we broke free from the serpentine leg of the River an out onto the wide expanse of the Lake, our paddles dipped to the rythem of music played from a cd. J F Coopre rolled to port. Our course was set to the High Peaks ahead.
