I assure you Robin Hoodlum,
I had nothing to do with the strange one buying himself a chair made out of some dubious local plant life.
He is one of "those island people" you know.
They will often weave banana leaves around Calabash Tree limbs
tied with coconut string stolen in the dead of night from terrified flatlanders
who would not venture out into the moonlit hours knowing that the Jumbies were outside
wailing and cavorting in the fields and forests.
Little does he know
that when he is asleep at night his chair gathers itself together again
even though he destroyed it in the bonfire
and prowls around his house waiting for him to come outside.
It is a good thing that it can't open the front door. :)
HOHOHOHOHOHO !
good to have a chuckle first thing in the morn.
Makes the coffee taste a little better.
Thanks!
It's going to be a Good Day!
A look at the moving pictures seems to indicate a rather noisy looking cloud is coming in from the east.
My Plan of the day includes going into the city to perform multitude inane tasks while sitting in slow traffic.
Perhaps you should disregard the last sentence of my previous post.
The good news is that I will treat myself to a very large portion of creole food at my favourite lunch place.
You guys are funny!
Pottery, I had hope momentarily that it would indeed be a good day...then you canceled it. What am I to do now?
BTW. I wouldn't advise sitting in traffic. Even slow traffic. If you must sit and do inane tasks, I recommend doing so beneath a palm tree on a nice beach with a cool beverage in hand.
Have not had nearly enough of that kind of inanity, for too long....
Just about to watch the Local Girls in the 100m relay finals, and the Boys in the 400m relay finals.
Stand a chance to medal in both....
Have to contend with some Supreme Athletes though.
Then off to a nice steel band concert this evening.
Recently realised that I have not been out of this house for any R&R in a long time.
Meeting up with friends and plan to have a Good Time.
Enjoy the evening Pottery. Looks to get pretty wet there pretty soon! Take care.
Please elaborate.
Pottery,
I told you it was gonna get wet!
Okay...I'm going back to bed.
Good Morning!
Sleeping peacefully until a storm came thru!
Gone now, can't mow the lawn now, oh darn. :)
Whatever will you do?
Reports of major floods in the Diego Martin, Maraval and other valleys.
Sounds pretty dread.
2.75" here overnight with flashes and rumbles..
Need to check the flooding details to find out what really happened.
The steel band concert was great.
The Pottingham Forest blob looks more impressive than 7 at the moment. Sorry to hear about the flooding. Likely to get worse.
Did you leave a pot boiling or something?
Really blowing up down there.
Thanks, all's well here but in the North things are pretty Dread.
Cars washed away, homes flooded, bridges out, roads slipped away in landslides.
Ten of millions of $$$ looks like. Insurers will be complaining....
Been watching The Games.
We had a good day, gold in javelin, bronze again in 4x100 relay.
T&T finished 45th overall in the medal table. Out of 200-plus. Not bad. Caribbean was overall Excellent.
It's PARTY TIME !>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Been a bit worried for you and yours.
Enjoy the festivities!
Thoughts and prayers to those harmed by the storm.
Here ya go!
Thanks.
The Celebrations will be subdued tonight.
Two flood incidents resulting in 2 deaths in Diego Martin, when a house was washed away and another was covered in debris from a falling hillside.
Very sad.
The area has been declared a Disaster Area and help is being given as we speak.
Army is mobilised.
Lots of reports from friends who have problems, either to their own properties or to families properties.
Sister in law's Mom has 4' of muddy water inside....
Will see tomorrow how I can assist.
God Bless Pottery.
Off for the night with my friend's friends to the south in mind.
Take good care all!
Hope you and yours are able to help your friends.
Stay safe and check in here often so we know you and family are ok.
Spoke to the affected ones that are close friends etc, and they are doing OK considering.
The authorities are working fast to place Bailey bridges, reconnect water, communications and electricity and to help in cleanup ops.
One friend says he cannot leave home because the road just below his house is gone. Complains that he needs to get dog-food for his hunting hounds and will have to tote it, along with groceries, all up the hill.
Lady Pott recommended that he eat the dogs..... not a bad idea, considering...... :):))
Heading out in a while to drop some stuff at sons house in Santa Cruz. His wife will deliver tomorrow to a collection centre for distribution.
A lot of folks have lost all furniture, appliances, cars, fences, gates, walls etc.
The water comes off those hillsides at about 30mph in places.
It's amazing to see.
Scary stuff.
Good friends live in the house with the green gate at the bottom of the "street".
Lost the wall, gate, and had 3' of fast moving water through the house.
No problems yet this year for them!
Shows the force of the water well, though.
Thanks for checking in.
Took the day off...thought I should probably check in so you guys would know things are okay.
See you tomorrow!
Peace be with.
Busy day ahead, no more excuses left, have to mow the lawn today.
Tough job, open the garage door, start the lawn tractor, back it out,
drive it around the yard for an hour, hose it down,
drive it back into the garage. Phew, rough job. :)
May have to go to Lowes and get one bag of brown mulch too.
I'm going to need a nap today I have to tell you.
Better have your Fritters before you begin.....
We don't want you falling off the mower and becoming mulch yourself!
My day includes going to town to do whatnot and stuff, but not until I set out some steel rebars for my hired help to mix some concrete for the footings of a tank-stand for the Studio.
It's a bit muddy out there though, so it will be a sticky job.
Have Fun !
Wow, Goofy and LowerCal, You guys dug deep to find those!
Thanks for the tunes!
I see that with the clearing of skies, Pottery and RTLSNK are back to working on their lists. So, Pottery, are you going to position the tank beneath the drawbridge, plank, diving board?
Just a typical Monday here and after goofing off all weekend, there is plenty to do.
Heh!!
The drawbridge is still on the list, you know.
About half-way down.....
Tank is on a 6' high stand so the footing for that is now done.
Trying not to have to pump the water, and the tank is where it will not be in the way of anything.
The top of the stand is only 6" above the water tap in the studio, so when its full the flow will be OK. From half-full (or half-empty, depending on your state of mind) the flow will be pretty minimal, and at empty, a low flow.
Will use 3/4 pipe, so it should be fine. No pressure is needed.
Main consideration is to get the top of the tank to be below the bottom of the roof gutter.
edit--- don't know why that's in all heavy print?
So, I guess the diving board will have go on the roof.
Of course, this necessitates a roof access hatch and at the very least a rope ladder. (young pirates are quite fond of rope ladders, you know.)
Your list keeps getting longer!
(sorry about that, but then again, you don't want to reach the end of the list...whatever would you do?)
Time to pop open the rum and jump in the line.
Hmmmm....
Yes, I have been remiss in my consideration as to 'what would happen' should I ever reach List's End.
I will cogitate on the matter, and seek some answers to this scary question.
It's highly hypothetical, of course.
One can never reach List's End, while one is living with the List's Scribe.
I await Snakeymon's comment on this conundrum.
Hope you are enjoying the rum of the evening.
Mine was particularly sippable....
The rum is my usual everyday USVI variety.
It's working it's magic after a long day, making me rather sleepy.
List's End.
Sounds like a good name for a tropical hideout.
Hey nevermind on my work hours questions. What a drama.
Pottery, sad on the loss of some of your countrymen down there. Just rain alone can cause drama. God Bless
Did you know that a 3 edged sword would cause a wound that wouldn't heal. They outlawed it in WW2.
Now I found that out on an auction show when they showed this little iddy biddy 3 edged sword about a ft or so long that the kids would carry in the old days for photo opps in uniform. Only the well to do had these swords made by a craftsman for that photo op
What is the most toxic animal in the world
A. the box jellyfish
B. the blue ringed octopus

Answer The blue ringed octopus.
Its venom can kill a person in seconds.
All common Aussie nastys
Holly crap I have seen heaps of blue rings and some kid even had one in his dive mask to show us all. Glad I live to tell this tale. And to think us aussies only worry about sharks. Bloody hell
