Welcome to The Ark

Sorry, but I'm too busy with work and family to maintain the blog right now. A lot going on and I need to focus.

You folks take good care of each other.
I'll be back when I can.

Welcome to The Ark

As we continue our virtual vacation, we arrive our next port of call. Alexandria Harbor, Egypt.

There is much history here and much to see. Should be something for everyone. Alexandria will be our base of operations, but we will use the smaller craft and vehicles to explore the river, the desert, historical sites, the marketplaces and so on.

So, maybe you are into pyramids, maybe history or legends, perhaps you want to retrace the route of Livingstone or join an archaeological dig. Looking for mystery, magic, or mummy mayhem? Well this it the place.

Be careful out there!

Current conditions in Alexandria:
70 and clear.
Temps should be comfortable all week.

Virtual Vistas

By: RobDaHood, 10:24 AM GMT on February 05, 2010

Welcome to The Ark

Taking a little trip ahead of the spring break crowds

Before anyone gets the wrong idea, I'm not talking about running Windows Vista under another operating system in it's own memory space...nothing that dry and techie.

One of the crew suggested that since time and money is so tight these days for many people that we take a virtual vacation. The Ark will travel to various locations, (suggestions welcome) and we will explore them virtually by posting music, photos, interesting tidbits, etc.

I think that might be fun and educational. A little fiction and fantasy is acceptable. For instance instead of "Oh, look...a koala!" and posting a picture, you could describe hiking though a forest and the koala surprising you and scaring you senseless! Of course "Oh, look a Koala" is perfectly acceptable as well.

As we visit an area you can take side trips using the wide variety of vehicles available to you from the marina and motor pool. Since this is a paid vacation you may also use your Ark Card to cover any reasonable expenses, so...Brat, you don't have to steal any airplanes, you can rent one! (although you probably will steal them because it's more fun, LOL)

Since we are still in Trinidad for the wedding, we will start our journey at that point. Lots to see on TnT.

Explore your own areas of interest, be they animals, agriculture, fine dining, fishing and hunting, local customs and tradition, resorts, or communing with nature. Remember that we are guests in the various ports of call and treat our hosts with respect. Though there is strife and turmoil and injustice in many parts of the world and you may not like a particular nation's government or politics, our mission here is to seek out the good. There is good and bad everywhere, but we want to keep the focus and the conversation positive in an effort to reach a better understanding of the world we live in.

So...there you have it. A vacation, all expenses paid.
(except your internet costs)
You are a great crew...you've earned it!
