What Ever Moves You

By: RobDaHood, 8:26 PM GMT on February 23, 2009

What Ever Moves You?

Does it have wheels?
1,2,3,4, or more?
Does it float like a boat?
Has it engines or oars?

Do you like planes, or trains.
Do you ride all-terrains?
Sail over the seas
or soar over trees?

Heavy Detroit metal,
or propelled by pedal?
Do you ride a rice rocket
or plug into an electric socket

Discover love in a rumbleseat,
or cruisin to a lowrider beat?

This blog is about all the things that move us,
from giant Peterbuilts, to the Volkswagon bus.

So give us your thoughts, your ideas and your dreams,
be it powered by solar, wind, diesel or steam.

'Cause The Ark crew likes sharing,
that what we do here!

So tell us your story, you see,
we're all ears.

Post a Vid, or a Pic, or a story, or rhyme.
Then hang out with us here, we'll all have a good time.

"The Ark's" Arts, Crafts, and Hobbies Festival

By: RobDaHood, 8:15 AM GMT on February 16, 2009

Gonna try something a little different...

Everyone will either latch on to this and it will be a lot of fun and educational, or it will flop, so up to you...we'll see how it goes.

I have noticed a lot of creative people around the Wunderground. Musicians, Painters, Theater Folk, Poets and Writers, People with all sorts of Artistic and Creative Talent. No matter what it is, there is likely someone here who does it for fun or profit, or both. Sort of to be expected...lots of smart folks and smart folks tend to need an outlet for their creativity.

And I'm not limiting this to things that we traditionally think of as Arts or Crafts. Perhaps you like to build scale model R/C planes. Maybe you do handcrafted furniture or tie fishing flies. Do you build custom motorcycles or restore antique automobiles...whatever your creative outlet we want to hear about it. If you've always wanted to try something, or are having problems, post a question. Someone will try to point you in the right direction. Don't be shy...we are a friendly bunch here.

So here is your chance...tell us what you do. And ask questions or give answers. Post links to your favoite website. Share information and make new friends. You'll likely meet people or discover old aquaintences that you have something in common with.

And that is a big part of what The Ark is all about...community building.

So...There you go...Have Fun!

A word about advertising...normally on the blogs we don't talk about our businesses. There is a good reason for this...to prevent blogs from becoming clogged with spam.
This is kind of a special case. No ads allowed, but if you are a WU member and you sell art or crafts that you produce, and you share your story with us and are willing to answer questions, then it is okay with me if you post a discrete link to your website, or if you choose, an email address, although I would suggest you tell people to contact you by WUmail to get email or other contact info to avoid getting spam. Banners or ad post not allowed, but links okay.

If you don't know how to post images or links, contact me and I will either provide instructions or post a tutorial here. Please try to comply with copyright requirements on linked images. Make sure that you comply with community standards issues for content. Look What I found wandering around The Ark today!

(Begin Message from RTLSNK)

Welcome to the 21st Century!!! Little Cupid has grown up now and shall from this day forward in time be known as "The Love Man". Requests for Valentines Day advice for the young man, the uninformed, or the socially inept, will be handled in the order in which they are received. Advice is free of charge, socially proper for all ages, and has been proven effective throughout the centuries.

(The Advisor, here and after known as "The Love Man", shall not be held responsible or liable for any emotional damage caused by the improper usage of the above mentioned advice by the Advisee, here and after known as "The Bozo".)

(end Message from RTLSNK)

It seems, that cupid has agreed to hang out a while and answer your questions about Valentines Day and Love in general. He asked for it, so have at it!

Also, in celebration of valentines day, feel free to post stories, Music and Video clips, and anything else you feel appropriate for the holiday.

Thanks to all who shared in the music festival last week. We will do it again. In the meantime, the link to The Ark Music Festival
