I'm so glad you and WUthers had a good time. And it looks like the weather cooperated. Hopefully, the others will post their favorite photos here, too, to create a Gold Beach Gathering album of sorts.

Has anyone else come down with a cold? I did. :(

"Does everyone see that hill covered in trees in the background???? That's Cape Sebastian. We are standing in the pull out at Hunter's Cove (check Google maps, because you can get an idea as to DISTANCE). Anyway, at least FIVE of our Wundergrounders took a trail from the TOP of Cape Sebastian down the side: Sharrose, cameradiva, Jim, and even Dorothy Carswell! At the bottom of the hill, in the background, you can see a very steep wash down the side... to the left of that is a narrower 'path' of sorts. That 'path' has a ROPE near the bottom that one must use to climb down. THEN they walked the length of the beach in the background to this location where we got this shot... the people who were with them were also hiking, but one of them had a car and was able to take them back to the top of Cape Sebastian to pick up their own cars. Bluesmaster also picked folks up to take up there..... man, that was quite a hike. About four miles down hill and across the sandy beach.... go, WUNDERGROUNDERS! I am IMPRESSED :o)"

Well by now you are all either home or very close to getting home, and if you are like me, your mind is still reliving the fun weekend we had being all together last weekend! I can't believe it is already a week ago today we all converged on Gold Beach. That town may never be the same! :)

sounds like you folks had a blast!

Looks like a great time was had by all! What a nice looking bunch of friendly folks!

Folks are making comments in the photos about next year and it seems that you all have started something! Folks are looking forward to next year in Gold Beach. I was hoping we could do a meetup here in Fort Bragg next year, but if folks are seriously wanting to go back to Gold Beach, we can wait until 2014 to do the Mendocino coast. I am not sure how to go about securing rooms at discounted group rates, and would love to find out about the paddle boats that go up the Big River in Mendocino, etc., but we will have to give it a back burner feel at least until spring when the decision can be made with more certainty.

So the question is:

Do we want to do another late summer west coast WU meetup in Gold Beach in 2013 or do you all want to come to Fort Bragg?

Sorry - OtherBug and I could not get there in time. Some of you might know our RV broke down in WY. The four days in a shop put me reaching the coast on the Tuesday after the meet. However the Redwood Trees were still on the coast for me to greet, hug, and take a few photos of after 20 years from my first visit to that area. Interesting to see what was the same and what is different.
My Internet is not good where I am at just now in NV and having problems uploading to WU. So much of what I have must wait till I am back in Mississippi.
