Hi Press, Pat, and other Portlight'ers,

A quick story. My favorite line from Fiddler On The Roof is when the begger is looking for money..(dialog taken from www.lyricsmuse.com)
(Beggar)
"Alms for the poor, alms for the poor..."

(Lazar)
"Here, Reb Nahum, is one kopek."

(Beggar)
"One kopek? Last week you geve me two kopeks."

(Lazar)
"I had a bad week."

(Beggar)
"So, if you had a bad week, why should I suffer?"

Why do I bring this up? I told Press a while ago that if my heel was feeling better, I'd do the walk..and it's not. But that shouldn't keep Portlight from doing its work..so I just put a second personal donation in, to reach the stated $200 goal.

While you are all out walking this weekend, I'll be holding a food and blanket drive, to help local homeless. I urge you all to not only support Portlight directly, but also to honor the spirit locally. While it's hard to match what Portlight has been able to do in each community, it's fairly easy to find our own local underserved, needy population..and to do simple things to make a difference.

Press - continue to do good with the funds available, and I hope to honor the intentions with my actions, even though I can't actually do the walk.

Best of luck walkers! May your coffers or coffee can get full of jingle this day if not before. Great works come from the few who make many.
