Hey PWS owerrs!

The new Wunderstation app from Weather Underground is now in the App Store! Available for ipads, this app is great to use as a weather station console,. All your PWS data right at your fingertips!

WunderStation allows you to customize how you view and analyze weather data. Add your station, and any station, from our network to your list of stations to compare current and historical conditions. Drag, drop, add or delete content widgets from the dashboard to view the data that's most important to you. What's really neat is you can expand each individual widget and toggle between an animated infographic view or a graph view to view historical data. It is all finger-friendly, so play with the graphics to go back in time to better analyze the data. In addition to the standard weather measurements, WunderStation can also chart your additional sensors (UV, solar radiation, etc). No need for a weather station console, when you have the console data available on an ipad!

More information avaialble here:

Play around with it and send me your feedback. What do you love about it? What improvements would you like to see?

Have fun!
Kari

Hi Kari-
What are the plans for us with Windows mobile devices? Can we expect an app soon or is that also a resource issue?

Yes, unfortunately this is also a resource issue. We will do what we can.

Thanks,
Kari

I have a ViewSonic 24" screen Android tablet and the wunder station app is not available for Android. Are you going to release it soon?

Once we get additional resources, we will be building Wunderstation for Android! Don't worry, we have not forgotten about our Android users!

Just noticed this app had appeared. Immediately downloaded, and immediately overjoyed. So awesome, thanks for making this app.

And when you come out with the IPhone app make a version for Android too. With all due respect building an app for one crowd and leaving us Android users out is a bit disappointing.

Hi Kari
Thanks for the help, just one other thing I have noticed, why on my pressure gauge widget screen, does the tendency indicator not move from steady as my weather station does alter its reading. No big deal but just wondering if you had any ideas. Once again, absolutely great professional app. Well done.
Cheers Jeff

The pressure change at your station has been too small to register a change in the pressure tendency field.

Hope that helps!

Absolutely great app, love it. Just wondering how I remove and shift the layout on my screen and I see there are other widgets on one of the demos, how do I access them. Cheers Jeff.

Glad you love it! You can move the modules around by pressing and holding on any widget. Once it turns grey, you can drag it around and the other widgets will move and allow room for it. Also, if you scroll to the bottom of the widgets, you will see a blank widget with a + (pus sign). If you tap on this blank widget, a list of your options will pop up.
Thanks,
Kari

Hi, some minor problems show up for me, in Australia, Metric settings.
No option to select hPa for pressure.
Temperature Block - Dewpoint shows -13 should be 8
Temperature Today Block - Graph shows temps as negative.
Daily Forecast Block - Temps show as negative.
Pressure Block - Main scale is "inHg" minor scale is "hPa"
Great looking app, all information on one screen.

Hi there,

hPa is equal to mb. So you can use the mb setting to see the pressure readings in hPa.
I pulled up your station to troubleshoot the negative numbers, but I'm not seeing negative temperatures anywhere. Are you still seeing the bad data? If so, what date is the bad data appearing on?

Thanks,
Kari

I think the app is great as it is designed to show Wunderstation data. The icon right next to it on my iPad is Wundermap which is great for radar!

Fantastic add!! Is it possible to include radar? If radar is possible, that will be even better!

Why does Android always get snubbed? Android tablets are outselling iPads 2 - 1 in the U.S.

It's time to develop for the masses!

Nicely done! Except for radar, this may replace my main weather apps. It's attractive, yet powerful in that it offers detailed views as well as pretty graphs/dials.

Two immediate suggestions:

1) Launching for iPad is understandable given the increased screen size. I would love an iPhone version as well, single column. I monitor my PWS more often from there, but the iPad version is great!
2) I'd enjoy seeing connected webcams.
