Hey PWS owerrs!

The new Wunderstation app from Weather Underground is now in the App Store! Available for ipads, this app is great to use as a weather station console,. All your PWS data right at your fingertips!

WunderStation allows you to customize how you view and analyze weather data. Add your station, and any station, from our network to your list of stations to compare current and historical conditions. Drag, drop, add or delete content widgets from the dashboard to view the data that's most important to you. What's really neat is you can expand each individual widget and toggle between an animated infographic view or a graph view to view historical data. It is all finger-friendly, so play with the graphics to go back in time to better analyze the data. In addition to the standard weather measurements, WunderStation can also chart your additional sensors (UV, solar radiation, etc). No need for a weather station console, when you have the console data available on an ipad!

More information avaialble here:
wunderground.com/wunderstation

Play around with it and send me your feedback. What do you love about it? What improvements would you like to see?

Have fun!
Kari

Running a Davis Vantage Pro2+, I cannot see any way to add an indoor temperature widget to the WunderStation App, or configure the weather widget to read indoor temp. Any thoughts?

Kari,

I am running a Davis Vantage Vue. I can see from my Meteobridge console that indoor data is being passed to WU. I cannot, however, find a widget in the WunderStation app that will show indoor data in the app.

Is this feature fully implemented?

I love the app! I am however a little confused on the timing of the rainfall data, and when it actually displays in the widget. When it is raining see incremental increases in the "Today's Accumulation", as well as the "rate". When I drill down in the widget to see accumulation for: Today, Yesterday, Past 7 days, Past 30 days etc. the data does not match. A couple of day after the rainfall event it displays correctly. I know that it is reporting as it should because I can see it in the browser. Can you explain to me, or tell me where to find an explanation of how rainfall data is handled in the app?

This is a great app. I have been running it for several months. I am getting indoor data with Cumulus. Yes, a mini weather radar widget would be a nice addition.

Hi Kari

I can see my PWS using my browser at http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-stati on/mypws but cannot find it using the wunderground Android app. In fact many personal weather stations do not appear to be visible using the app. Do I need to do anything to make my pws visible from the app?

Station ID: IAUCKLAN269

Thanks

This Wunderground app is called WunderStation and is still only available on iPads. You may be looking at the regular Wunderground app which is available on all devices and is supported by android.

Don't have an iPad, but do have an iPhone6 Plus. Maybe you could let it run on both. But I do understand that maybe it's just to much screen for the iPhone.

Thanks anyways for making a app .....

Thanks,

What looks like a lot of dots? Are you referring to your data? Can you please send a screen shot or give an example? When I view your station on the app your data looks pretty normal.

Just got my station registered and am thrilled at what Weather Underground can do! I live in Alaska where official stations can be few and far in between. I am an Android user and am hopeful that the Wunderstation will become available on that platform for several reasons, the most important being access to my indoor temp sensor for checking on my house for when I am in Hawaii. If there were a way to access this indoor data from a web browser that would be just as good. Is there a way, or will it be possible down the road? This feature is important enough where I may buy a used ipad just for this purpose. That said I would gladly pay for the Android version of the app as I have no desire to haul along another gadget when I travel.
Thanks

I too am disappointed that this is not out for Android... I dumped Apple and IOS because of their "walled garden" marketing philosophy, and don't want to be dragged around by their outrageous restrictions on use of their devices. Android is outselling Apple worldwide, and I would hope that Weather Underground supports Android first, and then when resources permit, IOS.

Hi Leo,

You need to be logged into your Weather Underground account in the WunderStation app to be able to view your indoor data. Actually, it looks like your station is not currently online. Your station last updated on Dec 26th. Once you get your station back online and log into your account, you should be able to add the indoor temperature module.

Kari,

I love the app, and so do the family members and other who use my PWS data. One comment.

I note that the app reports civil twilight times under "sky conditions" rather than actual sunrise and sunset times. If I load the wunderground.com web page for the PWS, the page reports actual sunrise and sunset times.

What would be great is to be able to adjust the "sky conditions" widget to report any of actual rise and set, civil twilight or nautical twilight.
