Haven't written in a few days. The lack of precipitation has brought some warm and extremely mild weather to town. The past few days have melted almost all the snow in town, especially on the west and north sides of town, where snow is non-existent. Everything near south of Main St. is ice and there is a large puddle of ice surrounding the station. As is expected no new snow has fallen since the last entry.

Surprised today...this morning was nice and sunny and the clouds started to roll in by early afternoon. You could just see the snow falling off in the distance. it was a fast moving storm that brought snow from around 2 to 5 pm. No real accumulation though, probably a quarter of an inch. I'll just call it a trace amount.

Last night we received about a half inch of new snow with about an inch of ice from the rain early in the day. Another few storms are expected to be moving through in the next few days. Probably will just bring rain again.

The "major" storm that rolled through the west for the past few days has brought absolutely zero precipitation here. It appeared that the jet stream split in a 50 mile radius around the valley. It rained off and on all day today and there is a possibility of snow tonight. Haha, yeah right. Currently we are in a climate identity crisis here. AHHH

The high pressure system moved in and brought with it some severe winds. Readings from the station were constant at 12.0 mph for a few hours. The new snow that had fallen is piling into drifts now...exposing the dirt and the wind is then blowing that around. Hopefully this predicted snow will be able to produce some accumulation so we can have a "real" winter.

The first wave of the series of storms has passed and some high pressure has seemed to roll into the area. Temperatures this morning were well into the lower single digits. New snow this morning was only a trace but we received 2 inches total for this wave.

Whew, finally snowing again. The flakes starting falling around 10am and we have about a quarter of an inch so far. Storm is supposed to last for a week! Hope that's true.

First snow of the year tonight. Just trace amount but it was enough to cover everything in ice.
