Sharp drop in temperature 20°F | 11.6 °C this afternoon - in 75 minutes. Barely measurable rainfall here. The storms moved around my area but as many as 32 storms were seen on local radar.

A beautiful day all day! Skies clear from sunrise to the present. Colder nights lately, loud crickets, & humidity dropped rapidly today.

A steady drop in pressure of 0.14 in | 4.8hPa in 7 hours, constant for the last hour.

Analysis:

With the sunlight heating the ground, a local uplifting effect(convection) causes P to fall beginning at P max, decreasing throughout the day for 6 hours, with a baseline extending into the evening hours. Around sunset the behavior reverses as the Dewpoint increases, the air cools, becomes heavier with less uplift, sinks and P rises once again...Φ

Tracking storms today...they generally change direction as the centers get closer and veer off toward the NE. The WunderMap is a marvelous feature! It updates quickly, displays the storms with clickable details, storm tracks similar to hurricane and tropical storm funnels, all without having to use several radar sites. Rainfall updates coming in a few hours...maybe

Rain today. That's new! In 6 hours (12:30 UTC - 18:30 UTC) the data from 4 local sources range from
0.8in | 20.3mm - 1.4in | 35.6mm. Gentle & beneficial rain. Nature can be severe yet she is gentle also.

This year

Temp(H L Avg):92.9 °F | 33.8 °C 50.5 °F | 10.3 °C 72.0 °F | 22.2 °C

DewPt(H L Avg):75.9 °F | 24.4 °C 41.6 °F | 5.3 °C 63.3 °F | 17.4 °C

So... it is much more pleasant this year compared to last year with the Avg. Temp 13% cooler and the Avg. Dewpoint 5% lower. Savings on electrical power usage, water is colder(5 in. depth topsoil temps lower), which leads to less evaporation and overall, the net benefits can be seen in the lush vegetation. The weather encourages us to exercise outside more and that means we are healthier because Mother Nature listened to the trees praying for rain a month ago and brought some cooler air from the Pacific NW over this area recently. Why? Φ
