I echo everyone's sentiments in that you'll be able to nurse yourself back to health in reasonable time before the big holidays! You've done a magnificent job decorating your home for Christmas and hope you can just kick back awhile and enjoy the scenery from within. There's no shame in asking your hubby or other loved ones for help while under the weather. I'm sure you do enough to help them when they're sick, so fair is fair.

Continue to take it easy, and I'll try and check back with you again real soon!

The flu? Oh, no! The only positive spin I can put on it is that it happened this week instead of next week!

Get better soon dear friend. The flu is the pits and hopefully it is one of those that is short lived. Take your meds, get plenty of rest, drink ginger tea to soothe the tummy, aspirin for fever and plenty of fluids to flush it out. None of us wants to feel miserable this close to Christmas. So much to do but do take care of yourself first, all else will fall into place when its suppose to. BIG HUGS girl. Thinking of you.

Hope it is not one that last 10 days or longer.

Don't be like me.....get a flu shot.

My doctor told me the flu shot doesn't stop you getting flu - it stops you getting it bad enough to be life-threatening:(

Oh, OGal... Not the flu. How awful.

Good thing you had everything more or less done and/or planned out before this hit.

You just take it easy, rest, drink plenty of fluids and hopefully, you'll be better by this coming weekend.

Did you call your doctor? There are those anti-virals you can take that will alleviate the symptoms and shorten the span. There's a short window of opportunity to start taking them, though. Within 24 hours of onset of symptoms, I think. They can also keep Hubby from contracting it.

I had the flu about 20 years ago. I thought it was a cold, at first, and called in sick at work. I progressively got worse as the day went on. Hubby got home from work to find me in the throes of severe ague and high fever. He's totally clueless, went into a panic and ran next door for the neighbor lady, thinking that I was dying. (I did feel like I was! LOL) She told him it was probably the flu and to call our doctor. He prescribed the anti virals and gave us a double scrip, so that HUbby could take them, too. He never got sick, despite sleeping in the same bed.

Sandi, no, the flu shots won't ward off all flu viruses. They're geared towards the one they feel will be most prevalent that year. You can still get the flu and having had a flu shot can help keep it from being really bad.

We are required to get them at work. If you can't take the flu shot, or won't, you have to wear a face mask from Jan 1st through March 31st.

Glad to read you are feeling better! Trucker has been gnawing off a few bows off our presents. I knew there was a reason I never put anything under the tree. But I know he is not eating it, as I find the residue he leaves behind. What I mean by that is, he just chews off some ribbon - but doesn't eat it. Didn't mean anything else but that :)

We were going to have a Wii day ourselves, but then ended up doing some last minute shopping and book reading on the couch with a little nap thrown in there. Now, we're contemplating dinner...I think spaghetti and a salad are in order.

OGAL - those pictures you posted on FB of hubby and son doing the skiing Wii have put me in the mood. I think it's time for some skiing or bowling! I also set up our Wii on our wireless as we are contemplating getting Netflix streaming - although my daughter said the DVD mail order version has more recent movies. But it was fun to set it up and get the weather and news on there just the same! I've had that thing for over 3 years and wireless for nearly 3 and just realized I could do that! Oh well, it's nice to learn new things!

We can now use our 52" screen TV as a computer monitor! Oh no! Oversized WU or Facebook!!! LOL
