16Nov2013 - Newport, Oregon

This blog will summarize our daily weather here on the Central Oregon Coast; and -- using local knowledge, a variety of weather models and forecasts -- will provide the best outlook possible for the weather ahead.

Had a decent blow overnight with WNW gusts to around 30 knots, and 0.34 inches of rain. Showers continue with a few sunbreaks in the unstable and chilly air following a cold front that swept through around 0600 hours this morning. Yesterday's high was 49F and this morning's low was an even 40F.

Marine: Seas running about 14 feet this morning, and winds still in the 15-20 knot range. Small craft advisory remains in effect for hazardous seas and winds to 20 knots.

Showery conditions are expected to continue through the weekend.
