A friend of mine described the weather change in the past twenty-four hours as: Autumn just pushed Summer down the cellar stairs. LOL, I couldn't have said it better!
Night before last, we had a major wind storm. I could feel our house vibrating with it, and there were temporary structures in town that came crashing down. (Someone reported that one of the pumpkin tents was a mess.) The crazy wind was followed by plummeting temperatures - below freezing and a full twenty degree drop from the night before - and then rain.
Yesterday, there was sleet in town and it was just plain cold. The wind died down some, but now it's back. Not as bad as before, but it's certainly not helping with the chill. Didn't seem possible, but it's colder today than yesterday. I went from Capris and a t-shirt to long pants and a heavy sweater in one day's time.
Right now, it's sunny and breezy and COLD. Low forties. (Ok, ok, I don't wanna hear any snide comments from you Northern folks! LOL! Here, that's cold!!) Probably chillier in our house than it is outside, because we don't have the benefit of the sun inside. I'm currently running a space heater to try to thaw out the toes. :)
Things are supposed to warm up considerably over the next few days. Calling for mid-seventies as a high by Sunday. We'll see. For now, I'm enjoying the change.

Weather is flat-out gorgeous these days. High seventies, low eighties during the day, with very comfortable chilly nights. Perfect!

How can something that never happened be over? Well, that describes our monsoon season. I think we had a total of ten days of rain over this summer. Fall has begun, and the forecast for the next week is clear, clear, clear. It's over.I can only hope that this freakish summer will lead into an equally freakish winter that will include copious amounts of snow!Until then, I will be happy with the cooling weather. Still running the cooler all day, but the nights ar...

Dew point of 59 degrees and a 60% chance of thunderstorms...! Not a drop.Today calls for a 50% chance. :::flips a coin:::C'mon, rain!! I feel like I'm livin' in the desert here! Oh.

Morning seemed slightly milder today. Was comfortable in the shade until about 10:30 or so. Then it heated up and has stayed that way the rest of the day.Barring a late monsoon, I'm ready for winter.
