cool and dry

June 16th,
Spring in New England varies from year to year, from hot to wet and cold to perfect weather.
This spring we've seen just about everything except hot weather, a few days into the 80's,but averaging in the 70's.We've had a lot of cloudy and some rainy days, but we are running below normal over an inch, but then there's other areas of new england way above normal in precip.
Last year we were way above normal for my area reaching almost 10 inches for the season.
Right now we are in a nice pattern, where the week is unsettled, but the weekends have been perfect.
We are heading into another unsettled pattern for midweek, and right now the weekend looks beautiful, but on the cool side.

June 17th
So humidity moves in today and will be around through tomorrow, then cooler drier air moves back in for the end of the week into the weekend. Kind of the same pattern we've had all spring.
Couple chances of storms, first late tonight and again tomorrow afternoon.

June 18th
The big storms weakened as the reached the east coast, so I just got a quick shower before dawn.
Front moving through today, but no instability,so should move through dry,Then the dewpoints start to drop and by tomorrow in the 50's.Nice weather through the weekend it looks.

June 19th
Summer officially begins on Saturday and weather will be more springlike, but with the high sun in the skies,it will be very comfortable this weekend.

June 20th
Not much to talk about in our weather. Northwest flow and cool dry refreshing air.
I get home at night and work outside in the yard tending to the lawn or flowers.
Starting to warm up beginning of next week, but still no 90 degree days insight.
This is my kind of weather.

Good Morning, NEw!

Woke up early to a quite brisk unseasonal temperature of 48! Hard to believe that it's actually the start to summer! At least, it's now warmed up to the low 70's and should improve as the day wears on.

Over the weekend, I had great success in finally getting those pesky windows updates to configure and take! YEAH!!!! The M/S Windows 8 site has a so-called administrator updates fix tool which fixed and showed those updates that needed it. Once this was done, I contacted M/S to help me with loading a free upgrade to 8.1 and to install needed office software. So far, so good, except I'm still having to adjust to the sensitivity of the keyboard of this new laptop. Quite honestly, a close relative of mine, (whose Windows 8.1 laptop I used in December/March) has the same keyboard sensitivity issues. Nevertheless, I'm gradually becoming accustomed to things and so grateful to finally have daily home access to the internet! I do miss my old desktop, though, as it was a lot easier and quicker to type posts or emails, etc..

Hope your weekend was an enjoyably relaxing one and that you found the time to tend to those lovely rose bushes you mentioned earlier!

Hi,Mass, yes we can still post music, thankfully.
Those are great tunes.I could live with this kind of weather the rest of the summer, but we
all know the humid weather will visit us soon enough.
With my job right now smoother and less stressful,I am able to do more gardening.
So hopefully with more attention,I'll have better results.
I also have 6 tomato plants in pots. We'll see what happens there.
Recent years have not produced much tomato.

Hi again, NEw!

I'm curious as to whether or not we can still post musical Youtube videos on WU. Haven't seen any posted for awhile and wondering if they're still allowed. Thought I'd try and post an old favorite of mine by Nat King Cole to kick off the summer season. Hope it takes and doesn't disappear like some of my posts. WU ghosts? LOL!

P.S. Here's another summertime favorite by Nora Jones:

A happy TGIF NEw!

I'm still trying to get used to the sensitivity and key placement of my new computer. A couple of my posts have already gone poof! Frustrating, but hope that time and consistency will win out. Last night, I ran my Windows updates off of the Ethernet rather than Wifi for a speedier process. Unfortunately, only 30 percent configured, so I'm going to have to call M/S tech support over the weekend to, hopefully, straighten out this matter once and for all. I'm reluctant to ship the computer back to the manufacturer for a one yr free replacement or fix, as it becomes so time consuming. This is the only active computer I own so, when without, I must rely on one owned by a close relative who lives 20 miles away. It's difficult dealing with lengthy traffic-filled highways and roads just to access the internet.

So happy to see Sheslookingup has just posted below but I certainly hope those mentioned nodules found in her lungs are found to be completely benign!! She's certainly been through quite a lot these past few months and puts some of my petty frustrations quite into perspective. Hope that she'll find all the needed support and inspiration to be found from every source imaginable!

Looks like another great day in store for us here and the weekend ahead looks equally marvelous. Nice not having to resort to using an air-conditioner as of yet. I'm still thawing out from the unbelievably long tediously cold winter! These ole fragile bones of mine just aren't as resilient as they used to be. LOL! HAVE A GREAT TGIF AND WEEKEND my friend! Barring any further computer issues, I will hopefully post again later today or on Monday . Fingers crossed!

P.S. Would love to see pics of your rose bushes and well-tended garden. It's been a long time since viewing them in the garden of my childhood homestead. Currently, hubby and I just don't have the time, energy or conducive sunlight needed. We can only enjoy our backyard's magenta-colored rhododendron bush in full bloom for 1 month out of the year.

I have to get some pictures of my rose bushes.I love roses and I've planted two everblooming rose bushes and they have exploded with blossoms,so I'll try to get a picture of them to post.
We are reaching the point we really need some rain.My area has been very dry.
Any thundershowers or downpours have gone around us.

Oh my, Mass and NEw, thank you so much for your thoughts and good wishes--I am here, but seem to be spending an awful lot of time at med appointments and tests of one sort or another. Rght now I am waiting for a call to schedule a lung biopsy, hopefully for next week, and then another wait of 7-10 days for the results of that, and then finally "they" should be able to give me a diagnosis and some options for treatment. I recovered from my open-heart surgery (that I had early in March) completely and robustly, thank goodness, and my cardiologist said he would have no problem with my having lung surgery if that is what it comes to. This all came out of the blue--no symptoms of any kind--and yes I did smoke, but never very much and I quit about 47 years ago, so if this is cancer it's not clear where it came from. Anyhow, I am just continuing doing what I have been doing and hoping that maybe the nodules they see in my lungs are not cancer but infection/inflammation instead, which the pulmonologist says is possible. However I am preparing for the worst since then if it doesn't come I will be pleasantly surprised, instead of expecting the best, which if it isn't, will be all the more dreadful. Thanks so very much for your good vibes coming my way!

New!

Thanks for alerting me of Sheslookingup's recent medical setback! My prayers certainly go out to her, as we're both well acquainted with the harsh challenges certain loved ones have faced while fighting such an insidious disease. Hope she'll be able to get back online soon to keep us apprised and to receive much needed emotional support from her thoughtful morale boosting blogging buddies!!! Hope the summer months ahead will also lend her some comfort and better results.

I agree with everything you say,I've been thinking of her these days.

Mass,
So good to see you,Sheeesh, you have more trouble with your systems then I have in 10 years.
I hope this works from here on in.My home computer runs fine, since I upgraded the system myself, but
still running XP for my wifes sake who does not handle change well at all.
I've heard a few complaints about windows 8,so If I upgrade it will be to windows 7.
It all depends on what kind of issues you were having, before I could make any suggestions.
Glad to have you back, and your right this weather is beautiful, much more comfortable for belle who
does not like the heat too much.

Hi NEw!

Had serious issues with my new computer last month, so I had to ship it back to the vendor, wait for credits and have another one shipped out to me. Hopefully, I won't run into the same problems (Windows updates) as before. It took 3 1/2 hrs for the updates to download, only to fail in configuration and get stuck in retrieval mode. I spent an entire weekend with various M/S, internet provider and manufacturing tech reps to try and fix, but to no avail. If this issue happens again, I'm going to take the computer to a local tech who owns the same brand name and see what he can do, as I'm tired of waiting forever to finally get online with a fully functional computer. Have you encountered any similar issues like this in the past? If so, please WU mail me with any suggestions.

Love the warm weather (with mostly low humidity) we've encountered these past few weeks. What a great prelude to summer's official arrival on Saturday! Hope I'll be able to enjoy this weekend without another computer incident. I'm still trying to acclimate myself to Windows 8 and this new laptop versus my old XP desktop. It's going to take awhile.

Hope the remainder of your workday isn't too taxing and the summer ahead is safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Our dewpoint is dropping quickly so the humid air is being pushed out to sea this afternoon.
Tonight will be a very comfortable night.

So I attended a wedding in Stamford Conn., which is a long ride, about 3 hrs.
But the wedding was great, had a great time.
My nephew got married to an Indian girl as in from the country India.
She is a sweetheart,we all love her,but she wanted a lot of the Indian ceremony for the wedding,so
it was pretty interesting to see how it was done. The actual Indian ceremony lasts about 3 hrs and the wedding goes on for 3 days, but we got the shorten version. But the reception was outside in a tent, the weather was perfect, and we all had a great time, but I'm kind of wishing I had taken off Monday.
