Back from vacation,now I need a vacation.
One does not go to Las Vegas for a restful vacation.
On the go all the time,to get to places it usually takes a lot of walking.
There are pools to relax, but other than that, its a lot of activity.
But it was fun and I didn't lose too much money,so I guess thats a good thing.
Weather was perfect, although it was getting hot into the 90's by the end of the week.
Back home to still cool weather, but not too bad.
Belle was happy to see us,she did well.
Still tired, though, took the red eye flight back and landed in Boston at 7:00 am sunday morning.
Still trying to recover from that and the time change
Will check in with everyone when time permits.
Back to reality

Pretty nice spring weather, but heading toward some unsettled weather by the weekend, not a washout, but a couple of chances for showers. Most of the weekend should be dry and a little above normal temps. Will be unsettled into next week also with a couple of warm fronts followed by a cold front.

May 09
Cloudy cool drizzly day today, then a warm front moves t hrough early in the morning, and Saturday looks warm and more humid with sc showers in the afternoon.Cold front moves through late Saturday night and Mother's Day looks perfect with temps in the 70's and possibly 80.Could be breezy.

Well,we can write this day off,at 53 and cool and raw.
Rain along the north shore is trying to make it's way down the coast.
Hopefully won't get here.

I wish any mothers in your family a Happy Mothers' day, but it is strange to see your blog header, because we had our Mothers' day back in March. You would think the powers that be could get together and we could all celebrate on the same day!

Vegas sounds really exciting, but not a place I think I would like to go.

Based on readings at 23 tidal gauges stretching along the entire East Coast, John Boon of the Virginia Institute of Marine Science has determined that the rate of sea level rise began to accelerate in 1987 at points north of Norfolk, Va.

Boone concluded that if the acceleration continues at this rate — something that is not certain at this point — Boston will see 27 inches of sea-level rise by 2050, New York will see 20 inches and Norfolk will see 24 inches.

By contrast, Charleston, S.C., whose rate of sea level rise is closer to the worldwide average, will see less than 6 inches. (In all locations, the bulk of sea level rise will happen in the second half of the century, as warming temperatures continue to transfer more and more freshwater from the ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica into the sea).

Interesting story on the local news last night.
Along the Boston Harbor, each year they have to raise the piers approx. 7 inches.
Why?
Well not because the ocean is rising that much, but it is rising quickly each year, but also the storms and surges have been much higher,so the flooding threat is increasing each year. Its why the beach erosion is getting so serious.Climate change is occurring much more quickly than they expected,so the effects are being seen sooner, rather than later.
The northeast coast is at risk more lately and expected to get hit hard as the climate continues to warm and the ocean rises and the storms increase.Something to keep in mind if your considering buying along the coast up here.

Skye,
Yes, I need to schedule another vacation when I take these active vacations, but I will survive, feeling better.

Looking,Vegas is not the place to go for rest, but it is an exciting place to visit and lots to see.
The wife had a hard time with the walking with her feet and leg problems, but she did pretty good.
Belle was so excited to see us,and we were excited to see her. She's settled back into her routine quickly.

Oh, the horrible redeye--and there's really no other way to get back from the west than that. It's hard sometimes to come home, everything that was there is still there, and you land with a thump. Good that Miss Belle did well. We always love seeing Trotley the Grumpy Cat when we get home. He purrs his head off and is very clingy for a few days. I guess Las Vegas isn't the best place to go for a restful vacation, but seeing different things and doing different things is interesting and exciting. Glad you didn't lose too much!

so in the weather department.
I come back to cooler than normal weather, just like when I left.
and still unsettled.
Looks to warmup toward the weekend, but still unsettled as a warm front then a cold front slowly moves through the area.
