April 14th,
Enjoy this day here in the east,it all changes starting tomorrow with heavy rain and then much colder weather to finish out the week.Complete pattern change

April 15th
So our city remembers the horrible events a year ago.Difficult to remember those days, but inspiring to follow the inspiring stories from the survivors.I am so proud of my captital city. We've come together so well.

April 16th
Just when you were ready to break out the shorts and tshirts, you wake up to .5 inch of snow.
Heavy rains last evening turned to wet snow before ending prior to dawn. Coated the ground with half inch of snow and temps dropped below freezing.Windchills running in the 20's.
Cool weather the rest of the week, getting back to normal by the weekend.

April 17th
Does not feel like spring.Still in my winter coat.Daffodils are starting to bloom, but I can even see them shivering.Should start warming a little into the weekend, but the next couple of days we'll have an onshore breeze chilling the air.

April 18th
We will have a very slow warmup through the weekend and along the coast not much of a warmup until Monday. But the holiday weekend should be nice.No big warmups in sight, but we should get into the 60's going into next week, away from the coast.

Hopefully nothing major happens on this special weekend for so many people.

Wind is coming in from the e and ne and really has a chill at 10 to 20 mph, with windchills around freezing. Not a spring feel out there today.

Hi,looking
I am trying to get used to this.
When these sites make changed,I'm all for improvements ,but why take away good things and hide so many things,to make it more difficult to navigate.Going to give a little more time and see.

My car was totally encased in snow, sleet, and ice,had trouble opening the door.

NEw, when they changed ("improved"?) the WU design back a ways, I couldn't stand it and went back to classic and that is what I have had ever since. I guess I am resistant to change but I just had a heckuva time navigating it. Much prefer the classic.

Just about half an inch of pebbly ice all over everything this morning. I'd potted some pansies on the deck the day before yesterday but even though they had ice on them this morning they seem ok now. Still pretty windy though. As long as it doesn't snow on Easter!

Not liking this new WU,
where everything was visible before, you could see who update another blog, you could see your email account and tell whether you had any new mail. Now we have to search for everything, plus having the comment box at the top.

Very disturbing event early evening when a very mentally unstable person, carried a back pack down the middle of the street near the marathon finish line, yelling Boston Strong, and left the back pack when police arrested him.
They exploded the back pack and inside was a rice cooker filled with confetti.Just a prank, but really upset a day that was very moving with its tributes to the bombing victims. The person arrested has a long history of incidents and obviously is very disturbed.

Hi,looking, been so busy today, haven't had a chance to see anything, but I'm sure it was an emotional time.
We do seem to push on through all kinds of adversity don't we,whether man made events or Mother Nature.

Fierce wind-driven rain here in Cambridge. My husband just used an extendable gutter-cleaner to fish down a tarp that had blown into one of our trees about 25 feet up. No idea who it belongs to.

Very moving Marathon tribute at Hynes. Mayor Menino was especially touching, as well as the victims who spoke. I simply cannot imagine what they have been through and will continue to go through. But I guess you just gotta keep on keeping on. We are an astonishingly-resilient species...

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHERN
CONNECTICUT...CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS...EASTERN
MASSACHUSETTS...NORTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS...SOUTHEASTERN
MASSACHUSETTS...WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS...SOUTHERN NEW
HAMPSHIRE...NORTHERN RHODE ISLAND AND SOUTHERN RHODE ISLAND.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

A POTENT SPRING STORM WILL APPROACH OUR REGION TUESDAY INTO
WEDNESDAY. THIS STORM MAY RESULT IN URBAN AND SMALL STREAM
FLOODING...WIND HAZARDS...AND PERHAPS SOME MIXED PRECIPITATION. A
FLOOD WATCH MAY BE NEEDED FOR TUESDAY INTO TUESDAY NIGHT. DUE TO
THE VERY COLD AIR BEHIND THE FRONT...THERE IS A LOW PROBABILITY
THAT A FLASH FREEZE MAY OCCUR LATE TUESDAY. STAY TUNED TO THE
LATEST FORECAST FOR UPDATES ON THIS SYSTEM.

SNOWMELT FROM THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS HAS RESULTED IN A SURGE OF
WATER MOVING DOWN THE CONNECTICUT RIVER. STRONG RISES ARE EXPECTED
ON THE RIVER. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL EARLY THIS WEEK COULD BE ENOUGH
TO RESULT IN FLOODING AT MORE LOCATIONS ALONG THE CONNECTICUT
RIVER AND ITS SMALLER TRIBUTARIES.
