next nor'easter

For our last week of February, our winter weather returns with much below normal temps, and a couple of chances for snow.As with most of our storms this winter,Track and strength are still anyone's guess.
The first chance is Wednesday, right now if favors a well out to sea with just a brush with snowfall, but still waiting for energy in Canada to move more southward to get a better sampling of data.So a closer path with heavier snow is still not off the board.
Then this coming weekend,Saturday we may have another chance for snow.Hope everyone enjoyed the warm temps this weekend,it will be a while before we see warm temps again.

Feb.28th

so the saying March comes in like a lion certainly applies this year. With our next storm scheduled for Monday. The big question is where the most snow will fall, and as always track is the ultimate decider, certainly looks like northern mid-atlantic is in the bullseye right now,but we have to wait and see as this system progresses across the country.

So not a lot of sun today, but it was fairly mild as I hit 40,most areas got to the upper 30's,but cold front sliding through the areas will start a quick drop in temps late this afternoon and certainly this evening, very cold until Thursday.
After this week, the Vortex in canada will still be around, but as the sun gets higher and stronger the cold fronts won't pack as much of a punch, but still looks to stay stormy.

Oh NEw, I am so very sorry to hear about the difficulties with your wife's surgery. Yes, you are right: no surgery is "minor" or whatever. She is so lucky to have you at her side through such a hard time. I have my good husband with me too, and believe me it makes all the difference. Thanks so much for your good wishes and thoughts for Monday. Everybody at the hospital has assured me that a storm will not stop any of them! But of course I am anxiously looking at the forecasts and reading the discussions. Everybody will sure be glad when spring finally comes!!

Looking good luck with the surgery any surgery is scary.
My wife is home now recovering, but it was not a smooth surgery. The surgery was on Tuesday and she just got home yesterday. This is a surgery that should have been one day.
But they had to get her back to surgery the same day when a blood clot developed,so her recovery has taken all day. She's been in severe pain all week,I've been sleeping at the hospital two of nights, but she is home and improving. So when they say minor surgery, there is no such thing.
Thanks to all for the best wishes.
Looking I hope the storm doesn't delay your surgery,I'll be thinking of you.

Thank you, original! This will be a mitral valve replacement; I had a repair of same seven years ago but now I need the whole thing (from a pig, can you take it? oink!) It seems the surgery will take longer than before because of scar tissue and stuff, but my surgeon (same one as before) is apparently in the top 3% nationwide for this kind of thing, so I am in good hands. Still, as you certainly know, it's a kind of scary prospect. So glad to know yours went so well. Amazing what they can do, is it not?

Best of luck on your surgery "sheslookingUP" In Jan. 2009 I had quintuple by-pass surgery and came out of it fine. You'll do the same.

I don't want "one more big one" on Monday as I am having open heart surgery that morning and really really need not only to get there myself but for the surgeon and everyone else in the OR to get there! I just have all fingers and toes crossed that the snow will not be massive at the time we all have to get to the hospital!! After that, I couldn't care less! :)

Speedy recovery for your Wife. I wouldn't mind one more "Big One" next week, then a slow warm-up so floods from melting wouldn't be too bad.

Hi NEw, yep, about March, but Wed. system looks to be kind of a dud for us. We'll see for next week. I remember a big snow storm on or about March 3-4th, I think it was 1961 OR 1962, We had 20.4" then, in New Rochelle NY where I lived, while NYC had 17.4" It was quite a storm.
