Aug. 5th
Once we got all those fronts by us,the cool canadian air has come rusing in.Took Belle out early and it was chilly, but didn't wear a sweater or jacket.I refuse to wear extra outerwear the first week in August.Tomorrow morning may be tough to hold to that rule.
First two days of the week below normal, then unsettled weather moves in Wednesday night and may hang around until Friday night. We'll have to see how it all evolves.Could be some flooding problems in certain areas.

Aug. 6th
It definitely doesn't feel like August this morning.Definitely a September chill this morning, but it won't last.Dewpoints will start increasing through the day tomorrow and Showers will move into the area late tomorrow night and last through Friday. Not raining all the time, but there will be periods of downpours and some thunder.
So far the weekend looks good with another fall like airmass moving in for early next week.

Aug.7th
So we have one more dry day today with comfortable temps and low dewpoints, then tonight the dewpoints start to increase and showers start to move into western sections.Tomorrow lots of showers around, but the heaviest in western areas as a warm front moves through the area.More showers and storms on Friday as a cold front slowly moves through our area. The front may not make it by us here in the east until Saturday morning.

Aug.8th
Humidity on the rise this morning, dewpoints up to 67 early and probably reaching low 70's by this afternoon. We've had a few light showers move through early with the warm front.May be another round of showers and storms this afternoon, but the real action will probably be tomorrow with the approach of a cold front.

Aug. 9th
Happy Friday to all.The predicted heavy downpours predicted for this afternoon, have arrived this morning.Looks to be a wet day with thunder and downpours most of the day.Watching any potential for severe weather this afternoon, although don't expect much sun to destabilize the atmosphere.Something to watch, especially with some turning in the atmosphere, may be a quick spinup in any strong cells.

haven't talked much about the tropics since it has been very quiet after and early season rush.We have already had Dorian. The lull is to be expected rarely does a tropical season start out early and continue at a fast pace, most seasons do encounter a lull as SAL and shear increase from time to time.
So currently we have a lull, but all indications say around the 15th we start to turn active, and I expect get very active through the peak which is early September. So don't get fooled by the quiet right now, things are about to change.Lets just keep our fingers crossed nothing serious hits the US.With the current pattern,I feel safe here in the northeast.

Hi NEw, most of the heaviest rain missed me here in Stamford CT., to my North and West. NJ., and the Lower Hudson Valley in NYS. got clobbered with heavy rain, and one area in Rockland county had a "micro burst" from a severe T. Storm yesterday afternoon that caused quite a bit of damage. NW CT. is getting heavy rain too. Hopefully the heaviest of the rain will pass off to your NW too, as it generally moves SW to NE.

Good Early Morning to you, NEw!

Looks like we're in for a real soggy mess today! Thus far, we've received only light rain to join with the oppressive humidity out there. Still not a fan of treading water outside of a pool, lake or ocean. Looking forward to a much improved weather forecast over the weekend and much of the week ahead! Tomorrow looks to be a great day for using the backyard grill or, if industrious enough, mowing those overgrown lawns, etc. LOL!

Hope your TGIF workday runs smoothly and the commute home is a safe one! Too bad there aren't enough affordable accessible cars being built that can easily convert into boats and vice versa! LOL!

HAVE A GREAT RELAXING WEEKEND!

Very humid air in place and storms firing up in New York and moving east,so things could get active later today and this evening.Once the sun sets,I would assume these storms will be dying down.

I so agree with you Mass,as I watch the evenings grow shorter and it is darker now when I get up in the morning,I can feel the summer passing with greater speed.
So more humid days for now is ok with me.I don't think we have to worry about the excessive heat we had back in July, but some warmth is wanted.

What a difference a few hours can make! The sun's out shining, the temps are a reasonably warm 79F but the icky stickies have hooked back up to them. Actually, it's quite enjoyable to feel the return of more seasonably warm summer weather to our region! I enjoyed the refreshing cool down, but don't want to hurry these remaining few weeks along too quickly! Summer flies by way too soon as it is!

Morning,LT,yeh, she will bounce back pretty quickly, she has a lot of spunk to her and we'll going crazy trying to keep her quiet.
I have no doubt the Yankees would have preferred to have him banned for life. With all the money ,and I'm sure he will not play up to that kind of salary.

Hi NEw, hope Belle feels better, she will be fine in a few days. Looks like with the "appeals process" AROD will play the rest of the year, maybe miss most of next year. Mean while AROD back for 3 games, and 3 Yankee loses--yeah he really helps! he's worth 25 million dollars a year--NOT!.

I think you should be ok for most of the day, nothing is showing on radar. Will have to watch for anything that may pop up this afternoon.Tomorrow looks to be the day for storms.
Belle should be fine,as long as we can keep her quiet for the next couple of weeks. No walks for a while.

Good Morning, NEw!

Glad to learn that Belle appears to be recovering rather well from her surgery yesterday. Seems her youthful effervescence is still quite intact! Hope that later thunderboomers don't scare her while recovering inside. No fun jumping out of one's fur while still healing!

Our skies presently look overcast and somewhat threatening at times, but there are thankfully no imminent t'storms seen on our local radar screen. Hope they'll arrive later tonight, as I have more errands to run this afternoon. At least, it remains pleasantly cool despite the slight increase in humidity! Our weekend and week ahead look to be more far more pleasant! Perhaps, the remainder to summer won't be quite the bust afterall! Fingers crossed!

So belle had her surgery yesterday and is doing well, was pretty much sleepy most of the evening as expected and could tell she was uncomfortable when she was out.
This morning she was up and ate well and wanted to play a little bit,but I had to discourage her.As she gets feeling better, its going to be difficult keeping her quiet, she is a very active puppy. When she looks at you with those eyes, its like she's saying "what the heck did you do to me"

I hope to enjoy the evening and get out of the office on time today.
Im not looking forward to the wet weather, plus bad timing. We will have to be careful that the stitches on Belled don't get too wet during this time.

Quoting NEwxguy:
Crazy Redsox game down there in Houston, they finally win 15-10,but they are really having a tough time down in houston against the worst team in Baseball. They tried using their knuckle ball pitcher, but the catcher couldn't catch it.First catcher to have 4 passed balls in the first inning, they had to take the pitcher out since he seem to be having trouble controlling the knuckleball.

Yeh, poor Red Sox catcher, Jarrod Saltalamacchia! Hhe finally gets a much needed day of rest and the manager can only substitute with either a stale or newbie catcher from the minor leagues! Good thing the offense was up to snuff last night or this would have added to the embarrasement of losses to this orindarily lesser NL baseball team. Hope the management can find an experienced backup who can actually handle all these pitches or it could prove very troubling should the team make it to the playoffs!

Moments ago, I happened to peruse some of those delightful italian dishes that Jus posted on her blogsite. I can't get my mouth to stop watering! LOL! I wonder if she has made enough virtual chicken parm dishes to go around for the rest of us hunger-panged soulss! LOL! Well, as Julia Child used to say in closing, "Bon Appetit"!! LOL!

P.S. Hope you can enjoy part of this lovely sunny weather that's crept in towards the latter half of today. We'll be seemingly bogged down in rainstorms for the next two.

Mass,
I agree with you, this cool weather is nice, but it also makes me feel like summer is ending much to soon. Although I don't wish to see any of that oppressive heat return,I would like to see some more warmer weather and less chilly mornings before September gets here.
I'm sure Belle will be fine and this done at an early age is much easier than in later years. And as I read up on this it will eliminate the risk for ovarian and related cancers.

Morning', NEw!

Sorry that Belle will probably be feeling out of sorts for awhile, but all 'n all it's definitely best to spay her while young. She should soon rebound in less than a week or two and will probably pick up where she left off.

I still feel a bit discombobulated by this recent chillier weather and have awakened thinking it's mid-September. LOL! Hope that the next few days won't produce too much turbulence around here while some warmth, humidity and t'storms return to the region. I'm glad those weeks of oppressive heatwaves look to be in our rear-view mirror, but I wish that summer didn't feel like it was fading as quickly along with it.

Have a decent Hump Day!

Belle is at the vets as we speak to get spayed.
She couldn't have any food or drink after her supper last night, and she kept looking at me this morning waiting for her food. She even went over and sat looking up at the counter where we usually prepare her food. She just couldn't figure out why I wasn't feeding her this morning.

The joke last night on FB was: Arod played 3rd, batted 4th and plead the 5th!

so the list has been handed down, but the big name is still waiting to be announced. I suspect that negotiations are still ongoing with AROD.I wish they would just get this over with, but this guy is still going to plead his innocence, eventhough everyone knows he's guilty.Sad day in Baseball, but hopefully this is turning the corner. It appears that the current players are tired of it also and want these guys using the drugs to either stop or get out of baseball.

GM,Mass,
It was a perfect night to go to the ballpark,it was comfortable and just a slight breeze. If I had to perfect weather to watch a ballgame that would be the weather and on top of that we saw a excellent game.
They are an amazing team, holding on to first place despite having your two top pitchers not contributing. One out with an injury for 3 months and the other can't seem to be able to pitch.

Good Morning, NEw!

This recent large dip to the jet stream seems to have choked off our summer season a bit! We now have to close up windows early evening and wait till near noon before opening them again! It almost appears that winter and fall have become this year's more dominate seasons and decided, ahead of time, to give spring and summer the bum's rush! Granted, it's nice that we've finally been able to cool down and dry off after an intensely hot six weeks, but not when it comes to losing weeks of more comfortable warmth as a trade off! Ouch!

I see we have a couple storms coming up this week with a reasonably hot one on Friday, but next week looks like a possible return to early fall with highs in and around the mid-70's. Actually, our current temps are on par with those of San Francisco, CA. Hard to believe it, but their summer season has been so abnormally cold with daytime highs reaching only the upper 60's to low 70's and nightime lows in the lower to mid 50's! It would be ideal, to me, if these temps were our norm throughout the entire year!

I take it you enjoyed Saturday night's winning Red Sox game against the Arizona Cardinals? Peavy looked good as their newly acquired starter. Now, all they need is for Lester and Bucholtz to get their heads and/or bodies straightened out. Boy, these young pitchers are so fragile these days! Hope things work out there before the season ends!

You know summer is starting to slip away when after a cold front passes, the phrase"feel of fall" starts to enter the forcast.
Thats what the next couple of days will feel like. This morning definitely had a chill in the air, with 53 degrees the low temperature. There will be a warm up starting wednesday, but not heat in the future.
As long as an Upper low deepens and moves south from Hudson bay,the cool air will keep getting reinforced, and right now it will last at least until the middle of the month.
