Jan. 12
Doubt I'll see any sun this weekend,so eventhough temps will be above normal, without sun,it won't be any big temperature jumps.May hit 50 tomorrow, but not much more.
Jan.11
Its Friday, this first full week back after the holidays, seemed very long, also due to the fact I was not feeling well.I'm feeling much better now, with a small residual cough and congestion when I first get up in the morning.
Oncall this weekend.
We have an above normal weekedend, with a good chance of 50's on Sunday.Showers tonight and tomorrow morning as the warm air arrives.
Then Monday a cold front moves through and then the cold air starts to move in with chance of rain on Tuesday and as it gets colder may be some wintery precip for inland and northern areas.End of next week is much colder,so our winter reprieve is coming to an end.
Of course the Patriots play Houston at 4:30 est on Sunday, weather will not be a factor. The playoffs all weekend
Saturday
4:30 pm est Baltimore at Denver
8:00 pm est Green Bay at San Francisco
Sunday
1:00 PM est Seattle at Atlanta
4:30 PM est Houston at New England

Woke during the night to the howling of the winds.
Cold front moved through with wind gusts over 40.Winds have subsided somewhat by dawn, but still pretty windy out there. These will gradually diminish in the afternoon, with a chilly night ahead.
Jan.09
Mostly cloudy skies, down to 22 degrees this morning, but day time temps get into the 40's,so we can't complain.Still looking at possible 50's this weekend.
Heatlthwise still feeling not great. This thing is a tough battle.Just when you start to feel better, the next day,not so good. This is going to be one of those things that will linger for a while.
Amazing flu statistics around the country.Tough winter for illnesses.Stay safe out there and wash your hands often.
Jan.08
Another day in the 40's,but windy,so it really doesn't feel as nice, but very sunny.
Cool down on Thursday, but not much, and big warmup on the weekend. If things come together,it may be in the 60's.We'll see.Cooling off next week.Uncertain if it turns stormy, but indications right now is for a big cold surge after the middle of the month
Jan.07
Looks like were in for a mild spell,a couple precip events, rain, but nothing significant.Possibly 50's for this weekend.
NFL playoffs this weekend, and for the most part none of the games were that good. The Seattle/Washington game was pretty good, but with RG3 really hobbled, they didn't have much of a chance.
So Patriots will host the Houston Texans next Sunday.Don't expect a blowout like last time they met,but Houston did not look impressive beating the Bengals Saturday.
Still fighting an illness, coughing and sneezing and generally not feeling well at all.Started to feel better Saturday and then yesterday went backwards.Had some chicken soup in the afternoon that made me feel much better,so its not a wives tale, chicken soup does help.Brought some with me to work today to help me get through the day.

PERIOD...WELL ABOVE NORMAL. WITH 850MB TEMPERATURES AROUND 10C...HIGHS
SHOULD BE IN THE 50S POSSIBLY UP TO NEAR 60 SUNDAY. KEEP IN MIND
THIS IS STILL 6 TO 7 DAYS OUT. RAIN IS POSSIBLE SUNDAY WITH A COLD
FRONT MOVING THROUGH SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND.
We put away a lot of the christmas decorations this weekend, still have a few around.I'm waiting for the warm weekend this weekend to put away my yard ornaments.
Hope you feel better soon!
Nothing a nice warm sunny beach in the carribean wouldn't cure.
They said hospital workers are going home sick, creating even more shortages at hospitals. The scary part is that flu peak season is usually around February, and we've gone much higher than most of the busiest past seasons.
Last Wednesday, Jan. 2nd, I received word of the passing of a close elderly relative of mine; which also happened to be the the same day my elderly father-in-law finally entered into the nursing home. Naturally, it's been an emotionally tumultuous week for hubby and me (which is why I've remained absent from the WU blogs these past several days) but we are both beginning to relax and recover from all the inordinate stress.
Sorry to hear of your lingering headcold. I'm so grateful that my hubby and I received our flu shots the end of September, as (to date) it seems to have covered us from the current flu strains going around. Strange how much earlier the H1N1 flu bug has struck and how far reaching. Odd, too, how there's no longer the threat of or needed vacinations for the Swine Flu that was so predominate a year or more ago. Hard to trust the National CDC (Center for Disease Control) these days, as they seem to have remained mute about these issues.
Hope our weekend forecast holds up for those short-lived spring-like temps. I wonder how it'll effect the big PATS game in Foxboro on Sunday. Usually, they do better in frigid cold and snow. Fingers crossed!
At the very least, hope these upcoming potentially warmer temps help relieve or knock out the miserable colds or bugs going around right now. GET WELL SOON!
Yes,this has been a tough cold to handle,it starts to improve and then knocks me down.It has shown improvement that last couple of days, but still drags me down in the afternoon, but I'll survive.
Who knows how the weather will play into the Patriots game,it will certainly be a good day for all the fans attending.
AJ McCarron played the game of his life to help Alabama crush Notre Dame 42-14 to win its second straight national championship and third in four years, but somehow it was his girlfriend, Katherine Webb, who stole the show on Monday night.
The Internet was first introduced to Webb around Christmas when she tweeted a photo of herself and McCarron together for the holiday. The photo sparked speculation that the two were dating. McCarron later confirmed to the media that Webb was his girlfriend, and it wasn’t long before we found out a few details about the young lady.
Webb graduated from rival school Auburn in 2011. She was crowned Miss Alabama USA a year later.
Webb headed to Miami to support her boyfriend during the BCS National Championship Game, but she had no clue what awaited her on Monday night.
With just over four minutes left in the first quarterand Alabama up 14-0, ESPN flashed to a shot of Webb in the stands along with McCarron’s mother, Dee Dee Bonner. All it took was 30 seconds on camera for Webb’s life to permanently change.
ESPN announcers Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit began drooling over the beauty queen:
Prior to the game, Webb had an estimated 550 Twitter followers. She added over 10,000 followers after the first time she was shown in the stands, and she was up to well over 100,000 followers after the game. The tweets at her were coming from all angles.
Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Darnell Dockett tried hitting on her. Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray tried to get her to switch allegiances. Webb even got a Twitter follow from LeBron James, who later unfollowed her.

NEw, seems like everybody I know has had this flu thing. Both our daughters, two grandsons, people in my book groups--but so far I am ok. Just hope it stays that way! Was on the subway yesterday--these people are coughing and sneezing and not even covering their mouths, let alone coughing into their elbows the way even my grandsons have learned to do in school. Yuk. The minute I walk in the door I wash my hands really, really well. I'm doing "fist-bumps" for the duration of this, too, instead of shaking hands. I'd rather look weird than be sick!
Sorry to hear you are going to be on call this weekend. Hopefully anybody wanting anything will be laying low in bed instead of calling on you! Hope your weekend is quiet.
Just a really bad season.
