November 16th
Its FRIDAY!!!!This has been a tough week here at work,so busy.We have a short week next week with Thanksgiving, and I take off the following Mon. and Tues. so I have a nice 6 days off. With my remodeling coming to an end,I may actually be able to relax a little, although with homes, there is always something. It still will be nice to get away from the stress at work.
We are in for a long quiet weather stretch as High pressure has decided to sit over the east and push the coastal storm out to sea and no major storms in sight. In fact as next week progresses we should see a nice warming trend.
November 15th
So latest models are pushing our nor'easter more and more out to sea, good news for weary east coast and northeast. With holiday approaching and lots of travel plans next week,we don't need a major storm.
Keep in mind its still 7 days away and models do shift in that time span, so watch and wait.
But it will remain chilly into next week, somewhat below normal, unlike last year where we were running 5 to 6 degrees above normal for November.Currently we are running pretty close to normal so far for the month.
November 14th
Our cold weather has moved in.Not real cold in the morning, but daytime highs only in the 40's.
This will be our weather for the rest of the week, while we wait to see whats going to happen with our Nor'easter.GFS wants to take it out to sea,but the reliable models bring it north, but slowing it down,so impacts will be on Tue/Wed.Lets hope not with all the expected travel before the holiday. Also hope it doesn't slow down so much that it impacts are felt on Thursday.
November 13th
Cold front has passed and we still have a band of showers moving through at this time with rapidly dropping temps, after being 63 degrees this morning when I left the house. So into the weekend it should stay cool and dry, although thursday may be a little unsettled, but all eyes turn to another coastal storm from next Tues/Wed.This could be another heavy rain and strong wind producing and slow mover,so this could have a severe impact on traveling along the east coast.Something to watch over the next several days.
Start of a new week, long weekend was busy.
We got our floor in and it looks great, except now that they put the floor under the front of our dishwasher, its inhibiting the opening of the dishwasher door,so we need to get that fixed.
But over all,it looks good.We had a family get together yesterday in memory of my wifes parents who passed away a few years ago,and everyone complimented us on the renovations, which made us happy.
We are enjoying a very warm couple of days, but cold front tomorrow will get us back to our normal temps for the rest of the week into the weekend. Still looking a possible nor'easter for early next week, hopefully nothing too big and get it out of the way for thanksgiving.
Patriots won yesterday, but should have lost, they were completely outplayed, but Buffalo decide to be generous and give them the game. Thanks Buffalo. Our defense continues to be pitiful.

Happy Monday!
Glad to hear your projects are done and wow you already had a party!
yeah,it appears to be a nor'easter and nothing more, but models are all over the place so its another wait and see.
That was not nice weather for your game last night.
Not a good outcome for your team.
Yep,we didn't waste much time.
Still looking for that relaxing weekend!!!
I have been watching the pictures and videos from NJ and Long Island, absolutely awful what those people are going through, but as their frustration grows,I totally sympathize with them.
Yes,it was a huge area that got steamrolled by Sandy, but with that said, how does a huge country with incredible resources, seem incapable of providing quick and massive relief efforts to people who are devastated, but Mother Nature. After the uproar over Katrina and the relief efforts, they assured us that they had learned by the mistakes that were made.Based on the relief efforts down there, its obvious we do not know how to deal with major natural disasters.
I feel so bad for those people down there, because they have no where to go and we are rapidly heading into our worst time of the year, and I haven't seen anyone coming up with solutions for people who have no homes left.
With climate changing,I'm afraid we are going to see more and more of these super storms, and we do not know how to deal with the aftermaths.
ok,got that off my shoulders, now I can only donate to charities and hope some of the money gets to the people down there.
I totally agree with your post. It is heartwrenching. We can only donate and try to make it easier on them. Listen to the pod cast (or replay) of Hurricane Hollow from Thursday, Barometer Bob had on an expert and author of Mid Atlantic Hurricanes. He basically said the same thing about there being more storms expected. We went for 58 years without a major, and actually haven't had a major yet (Ooh, maybe I have that wrong...something like that) anyway you can find the replay online. It was EXCELLENT. I bought the book and have it being signed. Then I want to try to get the new one when it comes out with details of Sandy and have it signed, too...
Ramble, ramble...sorry
Our defense is horrible,no lead is safe, when we get to the 4th quarter,we hang on by our fingernails, although most patriots fans fingernails are pretty much gone.
We would still become windy, but the heaviest rain would stay off shore and also lessen the beach erosion, but with these storms has with most storms the models will flip flop back and forth the rest of the week.
Hope you had a good Wednesday. Mine was insane!
Good to see that storm is turning out to sea. Yes!!
Remember last year a girl had posted that song about Friday, that everyone tore apart.
HIGH TIDE CYCLE FRIDAY MORNING ALONG THE EAST COAST...
.THE ASTRONOMICAL HIGH TIDE WILL STILL BE HIGHER THAN NORMAL
DURING THE HIGH TIDE CYCLE LATE FRIDAY MORNING. WAVE ACTION
OFFSHORE AND A PERSISTENT NORTH TO NORTHEAST FLOW COULD YIELD
ANOTHER ROUND OF MINOR COASTAL FLOODING WITH THIS HIGH TIDE.
IMPACTS MAY BE A BIT LESS THAN THURSDAY HOWEVER AS BOTH THE WINDS
AND THE WAVES WILL BE SLIGHTLY LOWER...AND THE TIDE IS ABOUT A
TENTH OF A FOOT LOWER. HOWEVER...LOCALLY PRONE LOCATIONS MAY BE
SUSCEPTIBLE TO MINOR COASTAL FLOODING/SPLASHOVER AS WELL AS MINOR
BEACH EROSION.
Sorry for the week long absence from posting or blogging as, last Thursday, I was dealt a severe reprimand from my doctor about my critical weight loss due to months of anxieties and demands placed upon me from both my hubby and 91 yr old F-I-L. Thankfully, hubby and his brother are now on the same page about soon placing their father into the same nursing home as my M-I-L before he forces us all to end up in one ourselves. If my hubby didn't have such serious health issues of his own to contend with, it wouldn't have been so difficult. However, it's way too much dealing with both hubby and his demanding father at the same time. I need some overdue ME time.
The other night, I was quite surprised to see that high coastal tides were, once again, affecting many parts of the Northeastern seaboard, Cape and islands. I saw how Boston's Morrisey Blvd had to be shut down due to severe flooding. That large coastal roadway has been seriously problematic for many many decades. I always wondered what ever prompted companies or businesses to build or expand near or alongside it.
Hope you've finally completed your kitchen remodeling project in time for next week's Thanksgiving festivities. I bet the cooks in your family will enjoy breaking in those newly installed kitchen appliances while the rest of them run for appetizers or football games on TV. In any event, BON APPETITE, SALUTE AND A BIG WINNING TOUCHDOWN FOR NEw's completed home projects! LOL!
Yeh,we get astonomical high tides which we get during this time of year, they have to contend with flooding, especially if there are large waves.
The good news is we miss the coastal storm and although its cool right now,its going to stay dry for all the holiday travelers.
No were not breaking in our new kitchen,we are going to our daughter's in Framingham,at least we can keep our new kitchen floor and the new rugs clean for a little while
have a nice weekend,my dear friend and grab some "me" time.
