October 6th
One more day in the 70's,then into a fall chill pattern, with no warmup for the foreseeable future.
I get to fill in holes in our wall prior to painting. I should have had a wall repair party, could have it done quickly then again beer and wall repair don't sound like a good mix
October 5th
We have a beautiful today, may reach 80,shouldn't be in work wasting this day,as we probably won't see a day like this again until spring, although October can be up and down,so who knows.By Sunday, warmth will not be mentioned.Snow falling out in the upper midwest,so the season is changing.

I hope everyone in one way or another contributes something for Breast Cancer awareness month, whether joining a walk or a small donation.Almost everyone knows someone who has been effected by this disease.
My wife who has experienced this twice is free, but the danger is always there for a return, but to our medical peoples credit they have given her hope this disease will stay away.So many have lost their lives to this disease. My prayers go out to all those currently fighting the disease, and never lose hope.
some say September is the transition month from summer into fall, but I always consider October the transition month. Although this year we had quite a few days with the feel of fall. This past weekend we were in the 50's all weekend except for late yesterday when the sun broke through before sunset and it hit 61.
So October starts out with fairly warm days in the 70's and can even hit 80,but by the end of the month with the colors in the trees and our first below 32 mornings, you really know its fall.Lets hope we don't have a repeat of last years big snowstorm at the end of the month.
Tropical season is pretty much done, although it officially doesn't end until November 30th,the pattern across the country into the Atlantic does not promote any tropical systems if they form to threaten the US east coast. We can get some home brewed storms in the carribean, but with the pattern the way it is,I don't really think we have to worry too much, just keep one eye open.
nice victory for the patriots, but you would never know it in the first half.Still worry me with all the mistakes they make, but they certainly flipped the switch in the second half. Now we wait for our old nemesis Peyton Manning next Sunday in Foxboro.

Seems like you're off to a very hectic start to both the work week and the beginning of a new fall month! UGH! Hope it will slow down again to where you can post here more regularly.
Just awhile ago, the sun broke through the overcast and helped to warm things up a bit. I don't mind if it's cloudy or even a bit rainy outside as long as much warmer air can accompany it. No fun having to don the heavier winter clothing to ward off those recently chillier fall temps both inside or outside the house.
Sunday's PATS vs BILLS game was quite the surprise. I was able to quickly view the score, (during the first half) while at my mother-in-law's nursing home, and thought that they would end up losing. By the time I got home, my jaw dropped to find the PATS had an almost record breaking number of touchdowns/points on the board for their obvious big win. I can't remember when the PATS scored 52 points in any of their recent or past games ... can you? Hope this new found mojo of theirs lasts well into Sunday's game against the Chargers, especially, with Peyton Manning at the helm. So far, it seems like he's been unable to assimilate well into his new team or vice versa. The Colts aren't doing too well without him either. Hooray for us??
Take care today and throughout the week and hope we can all catch up with you later online. Hope, too, you can take a break outdoors during this upcoming warm spell.
P.S. Have you noticed that Wunderground now has WunderAdministration alert bots? They're quite the new addition! When you change to a new blog, they put in a link up to it on the previous one. Don't understand why they've suddenly instituted this new policy. I think we're sober enough to find one's most recent blog on one's own. LOL!
A new maple tree we put in our yard a couple of months ago has half turned! It's quite orange against today's gray sky. A large garden spider has made a beautiful web between a couple of plants on our deck, but so far hasn't caught anything in it. Maybe I can find a little fly or something to toss into the web.
And Trotley the Cat is resting comfortably in his pillowed rocking chair, thank you for asking. You did ask, didn't you??
Another long dreary period. This has not been a good fall so far. This is more what I expect in the spring, but colors are really coming out, looks like its going to be a brilliant fall.Earlier colors are very bright.
Will try to make it back when I can.Hope everyone has a great day ahead.
I heard a meteorologist mention, the other day, that we, in the Northeast, can expect a much colder and snowier winter than last year. Gee, what are the odds of that happening?? LOL! Hopefully, it doesn't include another Halloween snowstorm and power outage like last year! That was the worst trick ever!!! Our old generator finally gave out, while testing it out awhile ago, and can neither be repaired nor replaced with a new one just now. Currently, it would be way too costly and we would have to have an electrician come in to re-wire the outside outlet to the inside box. Fingers crossed that any outages will be shortlived, at best, and that the Atty. General's mandated fines against power companies who falsely state that they are prepared and aren't have a positive effect.
Hubby has to see yet another specialist this afternoon, but nothing too serious. He's continuing to do rather well with his numerous conditions and remains relatively active without getting into too much mischief. It would be nice to get to close the eyes in the back of my head during my usual multi-tasking days. LOL!
P.S. Paying homage for all those who've fought the good fight or continue to do so in their attempts to beat breast cancer. May this dreaded disease miraculously become obsolete in our lifetime!
LOL,you women can't keep us men from getting into mischief, its in our DNA.Good luck with that.
Yes,the neverending battle against that awful disease, and I live with someone who is proof you can beat this monster, multiple times,so for all those out there fighting right now, never give up the fight, you can beat it.
Warm next two days, then cooler than normal after that.
Sunday afternoon,looks absolutely miserable.GO PATS!!!
Mass - I love the graphic in your post #8. Very sweet message with that.
And, once again it is very nice to hear your story of your wife's survival. So happy for both of you.
Glad you have one more day of the beautiful weather. It's not so bad here, even though the temps dropped.
Have a good weekend NEw!
Have a good weekend
