September is that transitional month where we have the touch of summer for a couple of days and then a front sweeps through to give the feel of fall.By the end of the month we definitely in the fall weather. But the first part of September is up and done.It is not rare to reach 90 degrees in the first couple of days. The real change is at night when you drop into the 50's most nights and start to get into the 40's some nights.
Evenings are getting very short,we don't get out on our deck for much before it starts getting dark and the mosquitoes come out, which is a concern with the high incidence of EEE occuring around the country. We just had our first death from EEE in massachusetts, with several other incidents where the patients recovered.
So Tropics are still active.
1.Hurr. Michael really put on a show out in the Atlantic, but is not threat to land and should start weakening soon.
2. TS Leslie still struggling to strengthen, but once it gets grabbed by the trough coming off the east coast and it starts moving off to the north it should strengthen into a Hurr. make a close pass to Bermuda and head off possibly to the Maritimes.
3. invest 90L in the gulf is not doing much at this point, and still unclear whether it will turn into anything, but should turn and pass over Florida with lots of rain.
4. Another system coming off the African coast, some models show this building and moving west toward the leewards or north of the islands. We'll have to wait and see what happens with that one.
