Nighttime thunder

Many areas of the country are subject to nighttime storms, which can be very dangerous if it involves severe weather and/or tornadoes. Here in New England it doesn't happen very often. Our storms are fueled by the heat of the day and quickly die out after dark. Most of our fronts approach late afternoon or evening.Last night was and exception as we had a front with a low moving along the front and around 10 pm the lightning and thunder began and lasted for until about 1 a.m.Some of it was spetacular.Thankfully no strong winds or hail with these storms, just a lot of brilliant lightning.
Showers ended early this morning and we have sunshine with the risk of a popup shwr or storm here in the east until late morning.
Hot day tomorrow, before another frontal system moves in for tomorrow night with more storms expected into Saturday, followed by cool canadian air into next week.

Our chance of storms popping up has passed as dewpoints are dropping. Should be a very comfortable night.

Hi NEw, glad the storms were not too bad out there last night.
We had a line which sort of broke up by me very early this morning. Lightening was spectacular here, too.

This cold front is really going to just launch us into Fall without having one normal season yet so far in the four seasons: Strange Winter with no snow, warmer in Feb then in August; A completely pre-mature Spring with a horrible frost which ruined the buds on the fruit trees around the country; A wicked, wicked, hot/drought filled Summer with not a normal temperature to be found; Now--plunge! 48 degrees at night and low 70's with an early Fall like pattern.

Can't wait till we see what the Winter surprise will be???

Wow.
Hope your Thursday is going well. See you round :)
