In the words of Billy Crystal, "You Are Marveloous,Simply Marvelous"
Which is how I describe the day.Cool refreshing morning,60 degrees, some places up north were in the 50's,warming to the mid-upper 80's,and fairly low dew points. This is a "10" day.
Unfortunately tomorrow will not be so nice,a Warm Front moving in late tonight may set off showers early in the morning.A weakening MCS complex and where it goes will determine if we get some strong storms tomorrow afternoon and evening. How much sun we get will determine how unstable to atmosphere gets for us.It will be more humid tomorrow and into the 80's,depending on the amount of sun. Then we get another beautiful day Thursday, before heat returns for Friday and Saturday, more thunderstorms late Saturday, and cooler and drier air moves in for Sunday and early next week.As long as the ridge sits over the middle part of the country where all the heat is,we will be in this changing pattern.
And there are no indications this will change any time soon.

Hi again, NEw and Sheslooking Up!!

While reading the descriptions of your renovation process below, NEw, I almost feel that I watched you on a few episodes of the DIY show, "Renovation Realities". LOL! I clearly get the frustrating moments you went through.

I saw the news of Andy Griffith's passing on Patrap's blogsite this am. He was such a talented actor, though perhaps in later years a bit under-rated and, supposedly, quite the quietly persistent humanitarian. Hopefully, he lived much of his years enjoying that which he loved best.

I also found out, a week or so ago, that 60's tv actor, long-time musician, producer, Don Grady, who played the eldest son, Robbie, on the 60's sitcom TV show, "My Three Sons", (starring Fred MacMurray) passed away June 27th, at age 68, from cancer. His passing certainly gave me pause, as all three "Sons" are or were relatively close to my age and I watched that show religiously during its nearly 12 yr run. I still see it occasionally on the ME-TV stations that re-run shows from the 50's - 70's era, i.e., for us aging "Baby Boomers". LOL!

HI SHESLOOKINGUP ~ So happy to see here posting today and that you were able to partake of some of the holiday celebrations commemorating, not only, the Fourth of July, but the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 as well. I believe that's why several of the Tall Ships have come into port and docked at the Boston Harbor for visitors this year.

I wholeheartedly agree about our servicemen/women, both past and present, who should be honored every Fourth of July for protecting our freedoms, especially, the Rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness! May you have a most safe and enjoyable holiday!!

Quoting Patrap:
Thanx for stopping by Mass.

No changes are going to come as far as I know, and Dr. Masters covers it all in his entry.

Enjoy your 4th Celebration as well, stay cool.

P.S. I blogged with Patrap (of Wunderground)awhile earlier, who has seemingly had an "in" (so-to-speak) with its administration. He stated that the sale of WU should have no effect whatsoever on the current WU blogs or its format. Hope we can take them all at their word!

I went down yesterday to see the Navy SEALs parachute onto the Boston Common--an amazing sight and can't imagine how they do it. Then I went over to look at the Tall Ships and some of the US military ships; toured through a couple of them, like some science fiction thing. I am not a big one for warfare but we need these men and women, their professionalism and all the amazing machines, large and small, that enable them to do their jobs.
Hope the sale of WU does not mean yet more changes in format. I stick with "Classic" as I can never find what I am looking for on the "improved" site.
Best wishes for Independence Day to everyone. Thanks to our founding parents for their foresight, and thanks to our troops who protect us.

Hi,Mass,I did get a lot accomplished,my main goals was to get all the casing for around the windows and the baseboard stained and ready to be put up.The would was not great so some of the staining did not come out great,so we had to buy some more,so those new pieces need to be stained, also the windows themselves still need to be stained. But the walls got painted, and look really nice.Step by Step.
Lets hope the storms bypass us tomorrow. So much work goes into the setup of the POPS event.
Sad news from Hollywood, Andy Griffiths has passed away. A true TV icon from our generation.

Good Morning, NEw!

Wow, I had no idea that Wunderground.com had been for up for sale and has now fallen in the hands of The Weather Channel. I guess Dr. Masters was ready to cash in and move onto a less time-consuming position. Hopefully, our ever-dwindling WU blogs or blogging buddies won't become obsolete once any/all changes take effect! Even NOAA has suddenly changed the format of its weather site and, as far as I'm concerned, not for the better. Time marches on and waits for no one.

Were you able to accomplish much of your renovation goals during your time off? Hope you found some time to relax in between and do spend, at least, some of this summer relaxing with your family. Our fall/winter months seem to come upon us more rapdily these days. UGH! It's a gift when taking any free time to really appreciate and enjoy those summer months of sunshine and natural warmth! Would love to bottle this day for year round.

Thought I might mention that, should we be so lucky weatherwise, the full "Buck Moon" will be out tonight. Suppposedly, our areas may be hindered by some cloudiness but, hopefully, there'll be a few breaks where it can be seen.

Sad that tomorrow night's Fourth of July celebrations may be severely hampered by showers and thunderstorms, especially, in and around Boston. All I can think of is how time and money has already gone into preparing for the big annual "Pops Concert" and fireworks display tomorrow night! Fingers crossed that they'll be able to work around any storms and pull much of it off.

Hope you have a decent Tuesday and may you and yours
HAVE A HAPPY & SAFE FOURTH OF JULY HOLIDAY!

Quick comment on Wunderground being sold to The Weather Channel.I'm not optimistic, that things will stay the same.Anytime a company is sold, its envitable that there will be changes, not always for the better.
We'll just have to see.I'm not exactly happy with the Weather Channel these days, less weather and more weather stories, makes me watch less and less of them.
