It looks like the southern plains are in for a rough ride this weekend, with the biggest danger tomorrow.

THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER IS CURRENTLY
ADVERTISING A SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK IS LIKELY FROM
NORTH-CENTRAL TEXAS UP THROUGH OKLAHOMA/KANSAS AND INTO THE MIDDLE
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. IN PARTICULAR...THE MOST DANGEROUS STORMS ARE
EXPECTED TO CONCENTRATE WITHIN A REGION STRETCHING FROM OKLAHOMA
CITY...OK NORTHWARD TO ROUGHLY THE I-70 CORRIDOR OF CENTRAL KANSAS.

Lets pray we don't have any death toll out of this expected outbreak. When you see a warning about a significant outbreak, this is something to sit up and take notice.I hope everyone in those areas are making preparations for shelter today.
We finally got rid of our pesky upper low last night.Yesterday we had some heavy showers and even some hail or ice pellets during the afternoon.
Today its all cleared out and we are going into the 60's,warmer over the weekend and into the 80's for Monday, which will not make the runners very happy.

Beautiful day for Redsox home opener, lets hope the outcome befits the weather.
I had to scrape the car windows this morning, the first time I've had to do that in a long time.
Sad story from our neighbors in new hampshire,a police task force sent with a search warrant for house in the small town of Greenland were fired at and one police chief was killed and 4 others were wounded. The sad story is this Police chief was set to retire next week. The shooter and another woman were found dead in the house later that night.
Prayers go out to the family of this brave police officer.

Hi,Mass, I guess the town is only 1500 people and there are only 11 town employees and 8 of those employees are police,so I guess its a really rural town and the police chief is out in the field alot, especially for something like this. There was only one guy and he killed himself and the girl he was with he either killed her or she also killed herself.
What I don't understand is this guy is known to police with a violent past,so I would have thought there would have been more cautions when approaching this house.Just a shame.
I'm oncall this weekend so I"m hoping it stays quiet so I can enjoy some of this nice weather.

Good Morning NEw ~

I just accidentally lost my previous post to you, which is probably par for the course on this Friday the 13th. LOL!

My sympathy also goes to the families of those Greenland, NH police officers who were slain or seriously injured last night. I can't help but wonder why the police chief was "in the field" during this drug investigation and just how bare-bones the staffing of police is in this community next door to Portsmouth? In my estimation, this is what can happen when citizens care more about the reduction of their tax dollars over the protection of their lives. Food for thought? I heard on this morning's news that, allegedly, one of the suspects has already taken his own life. Hope that Greenland's remaining police officers, and perhaps policemen volunteering from neighboring towns, can join forces in capturing and prosecuting those suspects still on the loose!!

Keeping an eye out, myself, on that nasty storm system, presently in parts of Missouri and Iowa, that's heading towards the Chicago area. Prayers up that no outbreaks of tornadoes accompany it.

Sad how the Red Sox's game opener holds little to no interest for me anymore. I don't blame their former manager, Tony Francona, one bit for not wanting to accept the organization's invitation to participate in this season's opening day ceremonies.

At least, our weather forecast has become increasingly pleasant with temps rising to the 70's over the weekend and in the 80's on Monday. Now, that's cause for celebration and breaking open the barbeque sauce! Hope you and the Mrs. get to have a pleasant Patriots Day holiday weekend!

LT,have a good trip, shouldn't have any problems going down.As for the shooting, any time police are going to a problem house, you just never know what you are running into. This really looks they were not prepared for this kind of violence.

Thanks for the post, NE. Very sad story from N.H. There are alot of disturbed people around. The warm weather is just coming in when my wife and I are driving to FLA. for 9 days! Looks like we will not be running into any bad weather along the way. We are driving down, leaving 2:30pm today. Take care.
