retrograding low, sounds like the name of rock band, but this is something that occurs with us once or twice a year. When blocking sets up in the North Atlantic it tends to push things back at us.We have such a situation out in the Atlantic,so a low pressure system moving off the coast tomorrow, will move Northeast out to sea,but then run into the blocking and actually move back at us next week, creating cool damp showery weather for most of the week,These patterns tend to stay around for quite a while.Spring is famous for these situations.
Probably the most famous retrograding was with the famous Perfect Storm.
So at the moment April is staying normal or at times a bit below normal.
Redsox open in Detroit today, cool sunny weather.

Oh NEw, I'm sorry to hear that about Prince. Maybe that medicine needs to kick in. Or, maybe it makes him tired?

Opening day here was about the same. Cubs had a good chance in the final inning, but were beat. Oh well. Here we go into the season. I did enjoy the final 2 innings a lot so maybe I'll be into baseball this year. It was exciting! Have a good night. Not sure if hubby is going to go to Wing night or not. I am off for Good Friday so I may go with him. :) Happy Easter to you and yours if I don't see you round.

so the sox lose their opening game, but nothing to feel sorry about. They were able to battle back in the 9th,but lack of relief pitching came to bite them as the winning run came over in the 9th for the tigers.Their lack of a close is going to be the downfall I think.
The news with Prince isn't good,he seems to be getting weaker. My fear is the heart disease is to far along, and this may be a slow slide downward.Pets are wonderful, but saying goodbye is so painful. We'll just have to see.

Lol,hi,Mass, hopefully that batter who appears to be swinging and missing won't represent our guys.
Yeh,Brimfield as not had what you would consider a banner year.Seeing some pictures from out there is looks a like a war zone, with stripped trees, barren ground. If there ever get any heavy rain, nothing to keep the soil from washing away.It sure looks like next week is going to be one of those cold showery periods we get stuck in for spring, but with not much help to our water shortage.

Hi NEw!

I must admit that I'm really disappointed that this pesky "retrograding low" has now moved into our area and changed what was originally supposed to have been a glorious, seasonally warm Easter Sunday. Sadly, it's not supposed to bring enough needed rainfall along with it to safely diminish current fire hazards. Poor Brimfield, MA has taken another hit with the raging brushfire of yesterday.
Understandably, all the wooded acreage, etc. in Central Mass., that was fairly leveled by last June 1st's tornado, remain strewn with now hazardous debris, i.e., much brush, split trees, limbs, etc., that can quite easily catch fire and quickly spread. This town also doesn't contain any fire hydrants anywhere which has made things overwhelming for those fire fighters within the town and all those called from outside to help. Don't think the developers or citizens of this town quite thought things through ... or maybe they thought they could just pass the buck onto the Commonwealth if such emergencies or threat to one's property occurred?
