New month

So it seems like I've been away for a month, but really only 5 days, was planning on being back yesterday, but was out due to illness for me and Prince.
So lot to talk about.
1.Never again,I'll pay anyone to due the construction work,I enjoy doing work around the house, but not anything as big as what I did.It was a reminder I'm not in my 20's anymore. Got my ceiling down, got my electrical work done,I put up 6 recess lights in the room.Got the Blueboard up on the ceiling Saturday, and got the room ready for the plasterer who came in yesterday, but it almost killed me.I was so tired by Sunday night I couldn't even move.I'm the kind of guy that learns the hard way,it looks like a hard job to do,chances are its twice as hard as you think.
2. I had started with a scratchy throat last week, and as the weekend went on the throat got worse, and I lost my voice. So with all the dust, and hard work,I was down and out by Sunday night.
3.Prince has not been feeling well for several months, but tests have been showing nothing, and over the past month he had developed a dry cough, and not energy. Then 1 am Sunday night I heard him coughing and he couldn't settle down and was breathing heavy like he couldn't get enough air. Finally wife and I took him to the vet hospital about 15 minutes away, and we spent all night there while they ran tests. They discovered he has congestive heart failure, this is a progessive disease. They put him on heart medication which will and has helped alot. This medication should give him 1 to 2 years and keep him comfortable. So obviously called in sick yesterday.
So its been an eventful few days. Now back at work, feeling 60-70 percent, and lots of work to catch up.
Anyway, hope everyone is doing well and will catch up with everyone in time.

Hi,ladies, yes I've been watching the radar and started reading the reports,it does look very bad down there.I have a bad feeling about this tornado season, based on the early horrible start,it may be a record breaking year. Not a recored we would like to break, all we can do is pray for all those people in those areas.Next couple of days are going to be very active down that way and along the gulf.

Bye NEw, hope you feel better! And glad to hear Prince is doing better on the meds. Sorry to hear he has his issues. Glad you got through your construction most of the way. It was rough but you did it!

Baaaddd in TX and have been working and checking in and out with that. Hope you don't get into any fires out there with those watches going on. Guess I didn't realize you guys haven't had much rain. How unusual. Weren't you flooding terribly only two seasons ago? Wow. Anyhow, take care and have a nice night.

NEw~

Not sure if you'll see this post, but I thought you should know that the Dallas/Ft. Worth areas of Texas got slammed by tornadoes this afternoon. I don't think it effected the Houston area or East of it, where Emmy lives.
It's a terrible scene with extensive damage in many of those noted counties!

Before I leave today,I guess I should talk about our weather, and its very quiet, but very dry.So far this year we are running 5 to 6 inches below normal, and with low dew points and high winds the next couple of days, a Red Flag alert is up for our entire New england area except down on the cape.
Things will still be on the cool side, but close to normal, the weekend could be a little warmer, but unsettled cool conditions will set in again next week.

GM,Mass,Your so right, projects as big as what I tackled should be scheduled over a period of time to take into account the problems that WILL be encountered as you progress, not mention to give you some recovering time as you perform each step.Ah dare I say also at my age recovering time is longer!!!!
Anyway,I'm sure once everything is done,I'll be a happy guy.
We pet owners all know that the end of pet lives eventually comes, but we tend not to think about it.We will try to enjoy our remaining time with Prince over the next couple of years.

Good Morning NEw!

Sorry to say, but I had a gut feeling that your best laid remodeling plans for over this past weekend might have produced a harsh reality check by Sunday night. I've watched so many of those do-it-yourself shows that have focused mainly on those, of a much younger generation; who've attempted remodeling themselves, with only a short period of time and money to do it in, only to end up looking and feeling painfully defeated in the end. Nevertheless, if the final outcome to all of this safely produces the desired effect, at a reasonable cost, while still alive, I guess one could say you're ahead of the game. Live and learn... eh? Believe me, hubby and I have been there, too! Naturally, we hope everything works out for you both.

So sorry to hear about Prince's heart condition. Understandably, it's so difficult to face the last stage of a beloved pet's lifespan. Glad to learn that his heart medication is currently helping, and hope he'll remain comfortable for as long as possible.

Try and take it easy through this work day and try and pace yourself throughout the remainder of the work-week as well. Have you stocked up on enough Advil??
