Well, it wasn't a Nor'easter, but the storm yesterday dumped over 2.5 inches of rain,no snow.
The storm system has raced by us this morning headed for the Canadian maritimes, but it has blown up and extremely high winds are hitting our area this morning, they should be diminshing by this afternoon. One reported gust down on Cape Cod was 79 mph this morning. Most of my wind is in the 30-40 range.
We headed into a dry and cool period with temps more normal for this time of year.30's and 40's.
I will be off tomorrow,so won't be around, will probably be doing the dreaded Christmas shopping.I enjoy the Christmas season, but shopping is like doing a root canal for me,but I will do it.
A serious news story out of Worcester Mass. where and apartment fire this morning injured two firefighters when part of the building collapse.Reports saw them taking the firemen away in ambulances,so I haven't look to see if they are alive or not. Some prayers for these brave fireman who risk their lives for us are in order.

I see you are officially in "winter" weather again.

Betsey and Baron come in next Wed morning and they are looking forward to getting here where it is warm.

Scott will come in just for Christmas weekend.

Hope all is well and you are enjoying your weekend.

So good to see you my two dear friends.
Mass,I hope things are quiet for you two through the holiday,it seems like you both have had a hectic life for a long time.
Don't worry,I will make it through this day,as crazy as this week has been.So looking forward to my long weekend.
It is very sad about that fireman, that city has seen more than their share of death in their fire department over the years.I have not heard about that shooting in VT,that is horrible, those kids are always on edge since that horrible incident a few years ago.
Have a wonderful weekend, and stay warm.

Alley, glad to hear you avoided any big snowfall,if we can keep putting it off, before you know it its spring.Hows that for pushing the calendar ahead quickly?

Hi NEW..its a cold windy day here too even with a sad looking sun trying to send some warmth. What a day this has been. Hope you are doing better, glad you did not get the snow that some folks received from that system. We sure saw a lot of rain here and only received a slight dusting that did not remain. Now its just cold and windy. Doubt we will get above the freezing mark for the next day or two, snow tomorrow in our forecast but that is yet to be seen.
Take care dear one, keep warm, keep well and keep smiling.

Good Afternoon NEw ~

Sadly, one of the two Worcester firefighters died last night after the partial collapse of the burning apartment building trapped each in the basement inside. The other is expected to live. Truly another sad state of affairs, as the deceased is the father of three sons, one of whom is serving in Afghanistan.

Also, a policeman has just been killed at Virigina Tech during a shootout in the college's parking lot. A white male wearing a hooded sweatshirt is involved. They currently have the school in lockdown. Good grief, when will this insanity end?

Hope you'll be able to make it through the remainder of the day until you take tomorrow off for a nice long weekend. (I thought I had briefly read earlier this week where you intended to do that). Hope you and yours have a pleasant relaxing weekend while also getting any shopping done relatively early.

We're so thankful that the 2.10 inches of precipitation received last night came solely in the form of rainfall. Neither of us wants to resort to using our generator again after Oct.'s unusual snowy Nor'Easter caused a 36 hr blackout. So tired of living or preparing like it's the "Little House On The Prairie" era.

Hubby and I are now finally coming up for air and plan to just vege our way (as much as possible) through the holiday season. It's been an emotionally brutal past six weeks. Christmas is taking a much quieter, somber tone in our household this year, but hopefully, it will remain uneventful in the good sense.

I don't need wind...I'm still having a bad hair day! Poor raindeer!

That is very sad about the firefighter, so close to the holidays with December tragedies in both cities history, Chicago and Boston (area). Prayers to the family. Heros.

Hi,Jus,
Just to show you how out of it I am with work right now, Have a good TGIT, I'm thinking and thinking and thinking,"DUH",Thank God Its Thursday.Boy,you can't get anything over on me,I'm so sharp.
It is really windy, one of my poor lighted reindeers blew over this morning,he was not happy. Not a cloud in the sky,but its cold and with the wind it feels alot colder.

Just got the sad news that one of the firefighters died this morning, the other is injured. So sad,Prayers for all the firefighters and especially for his family. It was Dec 3rd 1999,when Worcester lost 6 firefighters in a fire in that city.

Hi NEw, sorry to hear about those fire fighters. It was last year here in Chicago, I think or maybe the year before we lost so many, too. Yes, they are heros.

Hope the winds die down. That's a lot of rain. You would have been buried in snow with that so good think it was rain, I think. Now, to just get rid of those bad winds...

Have a good TGIT! Happy shopping tomorrow, lol. Try to enjoy ;)
