Ok,superbowl weekend is over.Leading up to this game,I was really not interested, still smarting from the Patriots getting booted out so early, but I was surprised to find myself watching this game,it was a fun game, with lots of momentum changes.Steelers for the most part were controlling the game in the second half, but mistakes and really too many points to overcome. Not to mention a great performance from Aaron Rodgers. If not for some horrible dropped passes,GB would have won by 20 points. He was definitely the MVP.
So football is over and Redsox begin their training camp this weekend, can spring be too far behind?Lets hope not,Spent yesterday chopping ice and shoveling snow off my roof, like so many people.Except for a weak storm tonight and tomorrow morning, which may give us a couple of inches,we are heading into a quiet period, and this area really needs a week without storms.Still numerous roof collaspses and schools closed while they clear the roof, its been very tough. But we can see the days getting longer,we finally went over 40 yesterday, which felt so good.

And I am a big fan of the BEPs,but the sound quality was so poor, the show itself was well done, but they are the kind of group that needs good sound quality, and it wasn't there yesterday,so I was very disappointed.
As for Christina's mess up on the National Anthem, shame on her.You are given a huge spot and you mess up the natinonal anthem????
Well I'd take your 40. We won't see it out of the 20's and then go into deep freeze again. I have to go pound a sign into the ground right now and it may bend I think...this will be interesting. Hope your week is off to a good start. At least your wx looks to be cooperative. Have a good one.
As far as BEP,I was so looking forward to their show and was so disappointed.
A good start to the day, temps are above freezing and the snow is melting. Not looking forward to the next few days though when temps drop down into the teens again for a daytime high. Sure glad I have no real need to go out of the house for a while anyway.
Hope all is good down your way and that the weather is holding up for you too. Nice to see temps again above freezing.
I loved that commercial, just the reactions from the little kid,and when the car started,he jumps back and looks back at the house as if saying,"did you see what I just did?"
Truthfully, I didn't watch much of the Superbowl yesterday, but I was one of those who truly enjoyed the half-time show w/BEP's and Usher. I think the participants dancing in the field did a tremendous job remaining synchronized. Fortunately, I missed Christina Aguilera's botched up anthem mess. Happy that the Packers won, though, as I'm not a fan of Ben Roethlisberger for most obvious reasons.
At least, Tom Brady and Bill Belichik received MVP and Coach for this past season's overall performance. It remains questionable whether we'll be cheering them or any team on come fall with the proposed lockout due in March. Imagine a year without football?
I'm so thankful that our roof is continuing to hold its own nicely and that, at least, Thursday's threatening storm looks to be out to sea. Seriously, my prayers are answered there and hope we all make it safely through the week!
Hope you'll continue to pace yourself out there, as you have an awful lot of stressful events going on right now. I read on Jus's blog, where you've been trying to clear out 50 yrs of artifacts from your mother-in-law's home along with everything else!! You must have one heck of a strong constitution!!
Hard to believe that Valentines Day is one week away and that half of February will be gone as well! This is one year where I don't mind our winter season to be dissolving relatively soon! I'm definitely ready to embrace daylight savings, SPRING and to hear a Red Sox ump clearly yell, "PLAY BALL!"
Thrilled with no snow in THREE DAYS, hurray!
Looking,as I was watching the game,I kept thinking I should be watching the Patriots.
Hoping the longterm predictions of a warmup next week will come true,so we can melt away some of this ice and huge snowbanks.Have a great day to both of you, busy day,but will drop in from time to time.
How are you faring since last Friday? Did everything go alright with your daughter's discharge and transportation into your residence? Hope that you both manage to overcome whatever obstacles are thrown your way and that, at the very least, snow removal crews make it to your neck of the woods in the VERY NEAR FUTURE! May much better times be ahead!
The baby is a healthy one, but there’s just one problem: his clothes are too small. Meet Johnathan Patrick, just days old, coming into the world on Feb. 3, weighing a whopping 13 pounds. 13.26 pounds to be exact.
We do it up big here in the "City known as the Town of Methuen!" LOL!!!! Holy Family is our local hospital and, quite truthfully, when Caritas Christy took it over, became one of the best around in ER care. I only wish they hadn't let go of their Neurological Trauma Unit. Now, one has to be transferred to Mass. General for surgeries, strokes, etc. SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS, especially, when Lawrence General is only a mile away and now has one of the best neurological teams available locally as well as nationwide! Makes a big difference when time is of the essence!
13 lbs! Sign him up for the offensive line of the Pats!
Wendy's Chili coma...I need a nap. Why do I do this to myself on the road at lunchtime? Least it wasn't gas station chili...THAT was a lesson learned!
Ugh,I stay away from chili these days, doesn't agree with me at all.Well happy nap time!!
