Ok,I've been through a lot of tough winters and like to think I'm a hardy New Englander,but....enough is enough.
I'm here to cry uncle. Mother Nature has won,so with my admission,I hope she will show some mercy. The problem is she may not have much control over Ole Man Winter. He seems to be in a very nasty mood this winter and doesn't look like he's going to let up any time soon.
So my temp this morning was -6,but thats balmy considering around New England -10,-20,wind chills -15 to -25.This is cold, the good news it only lasts one day.Things should start warming up after midnight as clouds roll in,and we may even get a dusting of snow tomorrow, with temps maybe hitting 32.Breakout the flipflips. The bad news is another major coastal storm, and depending on the track will determing how much snow and rain/snow mixture.
The Superbowl is set, found myself not terribly interested, but tuning in from time to time, the good news is the Jets lost, although hats off to them, they had a good comeback. So Greenbay and Pittsburgh, both with excellent defenses.

I was also glad that the Propellers lost. I'm getting a bit tired of Rex Ryan's schtick. The Steelers are a classy organization.

The midweek storm just looks crazy. For a storm over the benchmark, the thicknesses look awfully high for late January, but I guess the pattern's relaxing temporarily.

The GFS is showing some awfully cold weather next week...

I'm just pondering where the heck more snow would fit on our street--short dead-end street and still looks like the Arctic, with gigunda snow piles everywhere. Definitely time to hibernate and pull in the cave after you.
About the Super Bowl: in a way (a small way) I'm glad the Pats aren't playing, 'cause I will be sequestered (away from the tv room) on SB Sunday on account of being radioactive from this iodine treatment I have to have on the 2nd (due to thyroid cancer). At the same time our daughter will be at our house recuperating from hip replacement surgery she's having a week from today. Sometimes you just have to laugh, you know? when it all comes down at once. Fortunately my precious husband is a great care-giver (just like you, New).
Anyhow, they can go ahead and take all the snow away now, I get it, don't need any more examples, thanks anyway!

I am praying with you that February eases up,I haven't seen any long range forecasts for February, but no warmup into next weekend,in fact after this next storm passes, then a little clipper system on the weekend will drag down more cold air,not as bad as today, but cold.

Hi again NEw ~

I've been reading, on my usual Boston tv website weather section, of how challenging Wednesday's potential snowstorm is to forecast right now.

Wednesday Snow Storm A Challenge To Forecast

Like you, I'm waving the white flag as far as another possible 6 to 12 inches of snow hitting us again! Scary week ahead; especially, if we end up with a rain/snow mix! I can't imagine what additional snow weight will do to our already over-burdened roofs and landscape!!!

Hope and pray we'll get a miracle happening here and can make it through to, heaven willing, a better month and season ahead!

Stay safe, warm and sane if at all possible!

Good Brrr-filled MOAN-day morning NEw!!

Thanks so much for the wonderful birthday remembrances today!!! It means so much to have such terrific and thoughtful friends, like yourself, to help celebrate the big day!!

Wouldn't you know that my birthday is falling on what is officially the coldest day ( - 4 ) of the year thus far? LOL! There's got to be a few jokes in there somewhere. How about ...

Below from: HOW COLD IS IT JOKES FOR MOANDAY MORNING

"It's so cold on the farm that the chickens were mugging the sheep just to get wool for their sweaters!" LOL!!!

"It's so cold that Apple is introducing something called the i-SCARF!"

"It's so cold that Starbucks is selling anti-freeze macchiatos!"

Hope you're doing well and remain as safe and warm as possible!! I'm sure your car has enough emergency supplies just in case of a breakdown. I was watching the news last night, and it really hit me as to the potential gravity of what could happen if or when a car breaks down, etc. In spite of subscribing to AAA, it takes an average of 39 mins now till they arrive!! Don't care for frostbitten extremities while waiting!

Currently, we're hunkered down with our flannel-laden lumberjack look as well as a few of those "i-scarves" wrappped around. I think my computer is in need of one as well, since it seemed to have trouble trying to warm and start up this am. LOL!
