First and foremost,Haiti is on everyone's mind. The more stories that come out of that island country, the more devastating this earthquake is.It's really mind boggling to see the images and what those poor people are going through.
My employer has provided a link for all employees to contribute what they can and the company will match the contribution, and they also have contributed 50,000 dollars.
And a high five to all the WU bloggers who have jumped in too, either providing links or assisted Port Light. This is when I'm proudest of America,we show the world how much we care when disasters like this occur.
In our local sports scene, not much to talk about, our winter sports teams have taken over the sports scene. The celtics despite injuries are doing well, our hockey team is really banged up and can't win anymore.Redsox catchers and pitchers start showing up in about a month from now.
Our senatorial election is on Tuesday, hope everyone gets out to vote, really is an important seat. Can't help get the feeling, the democratic candidate Martha Coakley was taking things for granted assuming she was going to slide in with ease. Her recent ads have become nastier, indicating she's getting concerned about how close the polls have become.
My wife has been doing much better, having recovered from the effects of the chemo. She currently is going through radiation treatment, which so far isn't too bad.The issue is she has a bad back and lying on a hard table even for a short time is creating a lot of back pain. The treatments will continue for about 4 more weeks after this week.Everyday weekday.
Weatherwise have been cold but quiet, but starting tonight things warmup.Well into the 40's tomorrow and Saturday, before we cool down on Sunday.Watching a coastal storm, for Sunday night and monday,MLK day.Right now models have moved a little closer.I suspect southern new england will experience some precip.Maybe a mix, ending as snow on Monday, but doesn't look like a big deal at this time. Then next week quiet with temps around normal for this time of year.
Have a busy day ahead, will check in from time to time.

Unfortunately the clock is ticking for these people,I fear a lot more people are going to die in the coming days, but I think more and more supplies are going to be arriving. The doctors already have run out of medicine.
From what I've seen on my fellow WU blogger's sites, this gut-wrenching situation in Haiti has truly brought forth a re-examination of what's in our collective hearts and souls! I am so heartened by the fact that the whole world is not only watching the horrific tragedy that has unfolded , BUT TRULY RESPONDING AND PARTICIPATING ANY WAY THEY CAN! It's so nice to feel a sense of people being UNITED for a just human cause again!
"WE ARE THE WORLD, WE ARE THE CHILDREN, WE ARE THE ONES WHO MAKE A BRIGHTER DAY SO LET'S START GIVING. THERE'S A CHOICE WE'RE MAKING, WE'RE SAVING OUR OWN LIVES, IT'S TRUE WE MAKE A BETTER DAY JUST YOU AND ME ..." AMEN!
I noticed and played your video and am still wiping away the tears, as I remember how 25 yrs ago we all united to help those in Ethopia, etc. who were starving and facing extinction! Hopefully, we will all live to see the day when we can truly eradicate real poverty in the world and replace it with ideas and resources for people to become life-sustaining like the rest of us!
Additionally,IN HONOR OF THE PASSING OF TEDDY PENDERGRASS AT AGE 59 YESTERDAY (LEAD SINGER OF HAROLD MELVIN AND THE BLUE NOTES). THIS SONG STILL RESONATES DEEPLY SOME 35 YRS LATER!
