warmup ahead

November 30th
End of November and tomorrow is the start of Meteoroligical winter. It was a little above normal fall, but it was cooler then normal November, but not by much. The first month below normal in quiet a while, since June I believe.December looks to start out above normal, but don't expect it to continue through the month.I think it will be another month normal or slightly below. No big storms in sight.November was over 2 inches below normal. It usually is one of our stormier months.Lately October has become our stormy month over the past few years.

Saturday may get a little light snow or even freezing drizzle or light rain,as the warm air moves into our area, with an extended period of days in the 50's starting on Sunday. Will be nice after below normal temps to end November.
Fight night at the Celtics game last night as Rajan Rondo loses his cool.He really needs to get control of himself, getting suspended only hurts the team.

November 28th

So that was a nice holiday break.Had a enjoyable Thanksgiving, and a nice long break. Was able to relax and recharge the batteries. We'll see how long this nice feeling lasts, after returning to the job.Lot of work to catch up on backlogs and catching up on over 200 emails, which most don't even apply to me.
Enjoyed watching the Patriots rout the jets on Thanksgiving night.
Alittle bit of snow yesterday which barely coated the grassy surfaces, most of the time it mixed with rain.
So hope to visit all my friends as the day goes on.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

November 22nd
So we enter the holiday season.I love this time of year getting together with the family, decorating.
But I also miss the old times when it didn't seem so commercialized. And towns could decorate without some group protesting Christmas decorations, and you didn't have to say Happy Holidays so as to not offend someone.
But anyway,I wish all my WU friends a Happy Thanksgiving!!
I also like to take time to think about our troops overseas and pray they will be home soon.
Also a special prayer for those still struggling from the effects of Sandy.I hope they can spend time with friends or relatives on this holiday.
And of course,I wish my Patriots good luck tomorrow might down in New York.

November 21st
Almost to my holiday break,if I can struggle through the next couple of days avoiding my boss if possible.
Weather is cold and crisp, the best way to describe it. Mornings are down into the low and mid 20's and the days get up close to 50.Not too bad, brief warmup around the holiday, before a cold front plunges the temps on Sunday.

November 20th
An early Happy Thanksgiving.A good time to get together with the family and give thanks for everything we have, and a special prayer for all our troops overseas and may they all return soon.
Also lets hope the two sides for Israel and Palestine will come to their senses and stop the death toll over there. As always the innocent pay the heaviest price.
Looks like a quiet week ahead for the holiday travel, except for the NW part of the country getting a series of systems moving in with heavy rain wind and mountain snow.

long dry stretch ahead with warming
Posted by: NEwxguy, 2:19 PM GMT on November 12, 2012 +0
November 16th
Its FRIDAY!!!!This has been a tough week here at work,so busy.We have a short week next week with Thanksgiving, and I take off the following Mon. and Tues. so I have a nice 6 days off. With my remodeling coming to an end,I may actually be able to relax a little, although with homes, there is always something. It still will be nice to get away from the stress at work.
We are in for a long quiet weather stretch as High pressure has decided to sit over the east and push the coastal storm out to sea and no major storms in sight. In fact as next week progresses we should see a nice warming trend.

November 15th
So latest models are pushing our nor'easter more and more out to sea, good news for weary east coast and northeast. With holiday approaching and lots of travel plans next week,we don't need a major storm.
Keep in mind its still 7 days away and models do shift in that time span, so watch and wait.
But it will remain chilly into next week, somewhat below normal, unlike last year where we were running 5 to 6 degrees above normal for November.Currently we are running pretty close to normal so far for the month.

November 14th
Our cold weather has moved in.Not real cold in the morning, but daytime highs only in the 40's.
This will be our weather for the rest of the week, while we wait to see whats going to happen with our Nor'easter.GFS wants to take it out to sea,but the reliable models bring it north, but slowing it down,so impacts will be on Tue/Wed.Lets hope not with all the expected travel before the holiday. Also hope it doesn't slow down so much that it impacts are felt on Thursday.

November 13th
Cold front has passed and we still have a band of showers moving through at this time with rapidly dropping temps, after being 63 degrees this morning when I left the house. So into the weekend it should stay cool and dry, although thursday may be a little unsettled, but all eyes turn to another coastal storm from next Tues/Wed.This could be another heavy rain and strong wind producing and slow mover,so this could have a severe impact on traveling along the east coast.Something to watch over the next several days.

Start of a new week, long weekend was busy.
We got our floor in and it looks great, except now that they put the floor under the front of our dishwasher, its inhibiting the opening of the dishwasher door,so we need to get that fixed.
But over all,it looks good.We had a family get together yesterday in memory of my wifes parents who passed away a few years ago,and everyone complimented us on the renovations, which made us happy.
We are enjoying a very warm couple of days, but cold front tomorrow will get us back to our normal temps for the rest of the week into the weekend. Still looking a possible nor'easter for early next week, hopefully nothing too big and get it out of the way for thanksgiving.
Patriots won yesterday, but should have lost, they were completely outplayed, but Buffalo decide to be generous and give them the game. Thanks Buffalo. Our defense continues to be pitiful.

Nor'easter
Posted by: NEwxguy, 3:08 PM GMT on November 05, 2012 +0
Nov.8th
Our Nor'easter continues hold its grip on us.After snow and blowing snow last evening and during the night,it has changed to rain now.I ended up with a couple of inches, but there are many areas around us that had 6-8 inches of heavy wet snow.
Currently raining, with temps around 35,but the wind is blowing 15 to 30 with some higher gusts, wind chills in the 20's.Should all wind down this evening.A couple of fairly cool days and nights Friday and Saturday, before a big warmup into the 60's Sunday and Monday. Then a cold front comes through late Tuesday to get us back to normal.

Election is done with, continous political ads done with, political backstabbing done with, now we get back to government infighting and nothing ever gets done.different day, same story.
Anyway we have more important things to worry about, like a strong nor'easter heading our way with strong winds, some heavy rain, and inland snow and ice.Should be moving north as the day progresses.

Nov.6th
Happy election day!!!
Beautiful, but cold weather today.Stopped to vote before going to work and already long lines.Good news that we will get a good turnout.
The effects of our nor'easter seem to be lessening as models move the storm farther east,Cape Cod and the islands may get the worst of the winds. Also the farther east brings colder temps down,so we all may get a period of snow when the precip starts. As much as 1-2 inches. We'll see.

So we start a new week, but as with last week,we have the potential another major storm. This one won't be anything like Sandy, thankfully, but it will be a major nor'easter with very strong winds and coastal erosion, and heavy rains.
People in the northeast have to be prepared for more power outages and possible flooding conditions.Along the coast winds could be as high as 50-60 wind gusts.Even inland we could see 40-50 mph wind gusts. Those poor people along the NJ and NY coasts could see more flooding as the shoreland has been changed completely and any kind of storm surge and high waves will be an issue.
This is going to be a slow mover once it gets up here.starting along Wednesday early along the mid-atlantic and southern new england coast over spreading the whole northeast wednesday afternoon and night.Strongest winds will be Wednesday and wednesday night.
Those of us who are storm weary should get a break starting late Friday into next week.
