GIF Directions for the Faint of Heart (Ally? Code?? lol)
I used the Paint program on my laptop for those that have Windows .... it's not as fun as TuxPaint, but I think Paint comes on all Windows computers (under "Accessories"). Any basic drawing program will work (Mac users.. what is yours called again?) so.....
Step 1 -- open Paint program. Pick what you want to draw with. I picked the "brush" located on the left of screen. Choose a color down at the bottom of the screen. Splooosh a shape or line on there.
Step 2 -- Save the first one (nevermind that I have a typo in my file name... lol) ---- make a folder to hold your drawings in named something like ... oh, I dunno... "1AParintToot" LOL No? Okay, something easier then. Make a second drawing. I like to draw on the first one, erase (there is a little eraser icon on the left tool box) the first one and "Save As" a new file name. {Numbers are good. Simple and easy to understand)
Step 3 -- Keep splooshing butterflies (or whatever you like) and saving as new files.
Step 4 -- After you have a few drawings (up to 10 using Picasion) you can "view" it as a filmstrip on Windows (does Mac do this?) [btw, I've obviously discovered my silly file name in this screenshot and renamed the file. lol)
Step 5 -- Go to Picasion.com. On the first page there, click on "Browse" and go to your file with the spiffy drawings. Upload the first one. Go to the second "Browse" and upload. After three, you have the option to "Add One More Picture" and repeat that until all your drawings are uploaded. Down at the bottom of the Picasion upload page is a box: [Create Animation] .... that's what you click on to make the GIF.
Step 6 -- You end up on this Picasion page with the option : "HTML code to post on your blog (copy&paste):"
if you copy that and paste it into a comment here.... well, we have a movie!! Yay!
I'll do more on using TuxPaint if anyone is interested in that too??
******************************************************* I'm hooked on GIF making. I have been using a drawing program for kids called TuxPaint. It's a free, open source program :::...::. http://www.tuxpaint.org/ or... a clickable link to Tux Paint
**make a small drawing and save, add something to the drawing and save a new file. Repeat until you have a few drawings. Go to "Picasion" at http://picasion.com/ clickable link: Picasion-Creat GIF animation and upload the drawings. click on "create animation" button.
I'll add more info on these later. :o)

Well, that was pretty Smart of me not to put the Year on these dates, wasn't it? LOL!
okay, okay.... it's now Officially Ant Watching Season. Let the season begin. No new ant hill photos but I'm watching 'em.
August 31 :::..:::.. I was out early this morning looking at clouds and checking on the ants and ... Wow! The ants are building heart-shaped hills!?!! This was the most symmetrical one but at least four were heart-shaped. Well, don't you agree this is a sign? ok... back to picking up yard stuff and getting ready for some wind and rain... :o)
I was out checking on ant activity this morning and look at this! Wow! All the ants are busy in preparation for what Gustav brings (not crazy, but busy) and building heart-shaped hills! For LADobeLady and all in the way of Gustav ...
:o)
Hi Foxx... Yeah--- surfs up! lol It's interesting to see the first Beach GIF from a few days ago and compare it to this morning. I went out to look for (hopefully) heart-shaped ant hills... nada. lol Actually my antz are building alarming linear things along the sidewalk ?! what are they doing? really odd. there are some usual hills... think the sand is too dry for them to get any height on the hills. :o) {{{Scarlett}}} nno problem with "be safe" --- I'll let u know about the "be smart" part. LOL! Okaloosa County has canceled schools today (that puts a new wrinkle into the plans for the day) I have daughter lined up for securing yard stuff (hopefully before it starts raining) the front yard is in good shape... except for: the neighbors across the street are putting new siding on their house so there are stacks of old siding, ladders, stacks of new siding... all lined up for my house (Yikes!) and will be upwind to the east. I can only hope they do something with that. of lesser concern are the piles of branches from folks weekend industry. lol --- thinking about where I can hide my car.

Maybe you should post a gif of a "happy Ida Fizzled out" dance! LOL
Liking forecast much better now that Ida has lost some of her ooomph!
A couple of yachts have anchored right off my dock! Argh! Going to have to watch them to make sure they don't break loose...... Remember the boats in the bayou after Ivan??? In people's yards, on top of each other, in one home's living room! The boat closes to the dock has two lines out, hopefully its got a "good hold".
Keep a watch on those ants! LOL
Stay safe!!! XXXOOO

Trekzen, i also see some people out there?? wistful volleyball players? lol really, i expect to see the surfers out in droves later today. :o)
Foxx, Oh no. Yes, I remember all those boats in yards... there's still a boat beached on the little island across the Sound. Also remember boats on the Highway after Opal. You'd think boat owners would take the boats further into Rocky Bayou where it's more protected, wouldn't you? Like under the bridge? or is that part of the bayou already filled up with boats? You'll be like me watching out the windows to see if the neighbors siding is coming my way. I can see by the beach cam that the tide is coming up. I'm glad that Ida is weakening but still don't totally trust her. LOL!

Spike: I hate posing, and would rather be watching purdy colored whirligigs on weather maps, but that draconian rat b**tard Crab says I have to tell you "Be Safe", as if that's going to be critical information to you, or something.
Good Lord, BE SAFE, by all means, and here's an idea, DON'T FORGET TO BREATHE and remember to WASH YOUR HANDS.
For this, I gave up summer camp, so I could be poster critter for obvious axioms.
pfffffffft!

LOL @ Spike! --- Crab, what did you do to him to make him pose like that? I don't blame him for being disgruntled. No summer camp? ... and "Wash you hands"?? What's this? some new hurricane ritual? Well, something must be working, Spike... Ida seems to be on hold. not raining right now and just a little wind. Is it over yet? :o)
The Boardwalk cam is blurry this morning but looks like the Gulf is riled up. I can hear the surf from my front yard (not usual) and in an attempt to pull up a different cam from the Boardwalk that shows the end of the pier... i froze the laptop and had to start over this morning. Guess I'll stay with the blurry cam. Looks like the waves are up to the boardwalk now and breaking waaaaay out there. well, this was a lucky one... Okaloosa Boardwalk Cam from a few minutes ago:

Hi Yogi ... Good to hear the report from Navarre... East Bay? is that where the water is over the docks? I have a friend that lives where East River joins the Bay (Holley) and his place got flooded during Ivan and Dennis. I've been looking at the Navarre Beach Cam too... looks like on the Gulf side there's going to be some beach erosion. The water is up to the new dunes.

i am peeking outside, into the duskiness of another beginning of winter. it's all bluepurple now and the daylight is like fog. the trees feel like they are full of water, sculptures made of dark bluewater, very dark, slowly hulking, figures of listening, and maintaining an aware kind of sleep. they seem to embody knights waiting for something unknown, uncommittal in your presence, in a fullness of an involving pause. in a glance you become like them all, simultaneously the group, the stand, the grove, and each one as well, for a moment. you have shared time. to have time like this, within these moments, is not to know speech. not to rely upon speech to carry you through a world of moments when alone and pausing near trees at a time when the night is fading into the first shadowy glimpses of lightening, the deep purple time when you begin to see, the less for the ears and more for the eyes beginning of time, the trees hold your attention as you pause then. the whole world as you know of nature, when starting off in the night, within the night, the move with a wider attention, much wider than you as you know you in daylight, the movement of your body through hidden obstacles, uneven path, reaching branchlets, sudden stones or boulders, the life awareness you know as your self reaches out further from within. you are listening to the world in order to move through it. and at the pause between the world of night and the world of day, you begin to find characters, everything diversifies, becomes itself unto itself, in your presence. before the colors of each thing, each object that seems still and lifeless, each living thing, the grasses and birds, and those that seem to be somewhere in between like the clouds and the streams, before these slowly gain more and more of their colors, and daylight becomes the day, you are still and pausing and this is where you renew.
Not only will you be able to leave comments on this blog, but you'll also have the ability to upload and share your photos in our Wunder Photos section.
