Severe Thunderstorms coming

Most of Minnesota is under a Severe Thurnderstorm Watch. A Severe Thunderstorm has formed in the counties North and West of the Twin Cities area and is moving this way. Here is the National Weather Service issued warning.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Statement as of 6:06 PM CDT on August 31, 2013

The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Kandiyohi County in Central Minnesota, Meeker County in Central Minnesota, Northern Renville County in Central Minnesota...

* until 645 PM CDT

* at 604 PM CDT severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Paynesville to 7 miles east of Willmar to 12 miles northwest of Olivia and moving east at 40 mph.

Hazard: 70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

Source: radar indicated.

Impact: expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to Mobile homes roofs and outbuildings.

Atwater... Manannah... Danube... Grove City... Lake Lillian...
Thorpe... Watkins... Bird Island... Strout...

At 613 PM CDT... a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles northwest
of Libby... and moving east at 55 mph.

Hazard... 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... expect damage to roofs... siding and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Ball Bluff... Jacobson... Sheshebee and Big Sandy Lake.
