More heat on tap today

By: MNTornado, 8:13 PM GMT on August 25, 2013

More heat is on tap for today, Sunday 8/25,2013

At 3pm CDT here in the South Metro of the Minnesota Twin Cities Area the
Current Temperature: 96
Heat Index: 105
Dew Point: 72
Relative Humidity: 46%
Barometric Pressure: 29.92 inches and falling
Wind Speed: 17.3 mph
Wind Direction: SSW
Wind Gusts: 24 mph
Pollen Count 10.9 of 12

Basically this is not a good day to be outside if you are an allergy sufferer or are sensitive to heat. Even those who are healthy and strong need to take it easy as these kinds of temperatures can lead to heat stroke which can be deadly.

Have fun but take care also.

Hot, hot, and more hot

By: MNTornado, 10:13 PM GMT on August 20, 2013

Well it's a really hot day again after having a cool fall like climate for the last few weeks. Temps are in the high 80's to mid 90's across Minnesota with even hotter temps West of us in the Dakotas. I see that the hot weather extends from Canada all the way South to the Gulf of Mexico. Thanks for the high dew point and low winds, it feels more like 95 to 100 around here. We didn't have much in the way of clouds this morning and it even looked hot and dry outside. Now clouds are building from the East. Maybe we will get some rain to cool things off a little or worse, raise the dew point and feel like temperature even higher.
