this April I got a new Nikon D3200 camera and joined two photo groups on meetup.com. These groups helped me on my learning curve more than you could imagine. I have taken hundreds of photos, thanks to the digital age.

I have learned that I enjoy taking rodeo shots, I love Bokeh photography...and taking portraits of children.

I have gone through all of them and picked these out as my all time favorites.

The two photos of Wee Little Lass and Little Man were taken on 12-14-13 at Little Man's Second Birthday on my iPhone.

My Cardinals Send You Good Wishes for Christmas and a Happy New Year!

While I slept the WU elves wrapped a beautiful blue AC
ribbon border around this one. That was exciting to wake up to.

In honor of Draw A Picture of a Bird Day, very late last night after going to bed but before falling asleep, I sketched a snowy owl. Just a simple drawing! Did you do a sketch?

Hope you had a Happy Draw a Picture of a Bird Day!

Hi LittleBlueFlippers, Sorry about your computer mess up - I worry about that as think my computer is burdened down from so many photos. I need to move a bunch to an external drive. Happy Weekend!

Is that you, T? If so, it's good to talk again. If not, well, I hope you don't mind chatting with a stranger. :)

I just read about your computer catastrophe. Oh my gosh, I hope you can get all your photos recovered! Contacting your neighbor and requesting help was a smart move on your part.

Once you've got all your files recovered - and I have faith that you will - make sure you get some sort of backup system in place. Maybe your neighbor can help with that, too, or you can ask here on Wunderground. Believe me, I understand how traumatic data loss can be. (I didn't name myself Data for nothing.)

I just hope you don't let this incident stop you from continuing on with your love of photography. It would be a shame to waste your talent.

WW: I did wear green, but I have so much green blood... I didn't really need to. LOL

Sandi: Yes, every photo. However, my neighbor is taking computer forensics this term in college. She and her Prof. were able to set me up with a recovery program. I have over 95% recovered, until I ran out of room to recover to. I am now looking for a new external drive to finish the recovery process. Will keep you posted on this.

Looking forward to new machine. I have missed six weeks of photo club. Not been feeling like photography - yes, I know that says all, eh?

WeatherWise: That is a beautiful photo. If I may make a suggestion, If you ever get a chance to use a dobsonian telescope, put your camera lens right up to the eye piece. Take photos of a 3/4 to full moon through it. You will be amazed at the outcome.

Sandi: Yes, I lost every last photo I have taken since 1987. I went to my neighbor who is taking computer forensics, crying and explaining what I had done. She set me up with a program that will allow me to get it back. I worked at it non-stop for three weeks before I ran out of room to put the recovered information. It has been two weeks since that has happened, I will be getting another drive soon. It will take time, but I am hopeful that all will be recovered.

I will get the CPAP stuff on the 21st of this month.... next Friday.

Hope you haven't lost anything vital!

Hi LittleBlueFlippers! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I like Your idea of the phone case for your favorite photos. I seldom print photos except for printing little wallet sizes to take to the patients at the nursing home when I visit or to use as decoration for letters and envelopes, or for the children at church and some of the older folks enjoy them also. Thanks for suggesting the Elements of Photography and the link to find it. I really should take some photography classes. Have a great Sunday and check out my moon shot from tonight - I received my 100th AC recognition tonight - a major milestone.

Okay, One lesson learned. When you are not feeling well and mentally not with it.

STAY AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER...AND DEFINITELY DO NOT FORMAT ANYTHING.

I am now working with a recovery program to hold onto every single photo I have ever taken. UGGGGHHHH!!

Thank you, Shirley. I love the feedback. What I like to do is to choose one, print it and then put it in a clear phone case. I keep these photos in a separate folder of my top faves... I choose my top pick from that.

I went to "TheGreatCourses.com" and bought the course "Elements of Photography". Watch the prices... they go all over the board. One of the things taught in that class is how to edit down your photos to the best. I hope that helps.

Hi LittleBlueFlippers, I am Shirley aka WeatherWise on WU Photos. Saw your cute screen name flip by in the Community Activity window and thought I would slip in and take a peek to see what your blog was all about. I think that is a great idea joining the two photo groups. You do learn a lot from each other. I like how you took a look at all of your photos for the year and chose your top ten. That must have been quite hard to do. I try to choose my best shot of the day and post it here on WU and even that is hard to do. You chose well as all of the ten are beautiful. Of course, I am partial to the photos of the children, but think my favorite of the others is the puzzle photo. Hey, but I like the duck, and the Japanese gardens - Hey, I like them all - don't think I can choose one favorite. I am new to the blogs - though I have been a member of WU for years - I never even knew about the blogs. Well, I would see that option that said Read My Blog - click on it and it would suggest I start a blog. I never did but did think on it. For New Years, I started a blog. Hope your will visit and take a peek!

That is quite a conundrum - time done by the 24 hours clock really does help.

2400h is at the end of a day and 0000.1h is the beginning of the next!

Hope you are well :)

trying to understand the standard for having something due on the 31st. at 12 am.... is that the 12am before the day, or 12am after the day.

In my world, 12 am is at the start of the day. If you want it due at the end of the day, you would say "Midnight"

I just wish I knew when my photos for the photo club scavenger hunt were due. Is that too much to ask??

I don't know if enjoying is the word for it. I spent the first 7 days of my 10 days off working hard to get Mom ready for the holiday. I helped with her shopping, wrapping, baking the goodies and dinner.

There were 13 of us enjoying each other's company. My 99 year old grandfather enjoyed himself just as much as 2 year old Little Man.

I hope all of you enjoyed your holiday as well. Prayers and blessings to all!

I know it has been awhile since you have seen either, mainly because it has been awhile since I have been here. Little Miss is in Kindergarten this year. Little Man has Pa pa wrapped around his wee little fingers.

When I broke my ankle this summer I really got to see that first hand. When Little Man wanted something from the kitchen, he would pull Pa pa's arm until he'd pulled my father from the chair and into the floor. For the rest of us, my father would have fought back and resisted.

Little Man is no longer willing to put up with Wee Little's sibling supremacy. He's starting to push back.

Today starts my 10 day vacation from work. Not that I am planning to go anywhere, but the point is that I won't be there for Christmas. I am using some of my favorite photos as gifts this year. the one of the waterfalls and koi was made into a 500 piece puzzle. I had that made for the family gift exchange.

Today is Gaudete Sunday, the third Sunday in Advent.....only ten days to go:)

Thanks for the photos of you two little ones... your wee little is the same age as my great niece. She is five and also very helpful. Her younger brother is now three, but because she was a premature baby, she is small and dainty, whereas he is taller and bigger than her, but two years younger!

Sandi: That's not my nephew, it's my co-worker's daughter. We did a photo shoot at Fort Vancouver and I promised her some hot cocoa if she played along.

The ankle is good. PT is done and I can tell when the barometer drops now.

OBOP: I am hoping that someone will be a pro-rodeo fan and be able to tell me who he is...or ask him to visit me. I have been doing research and I THINK I might know who he is, but I would like a second opinion.

look close to this photo. I don't think the cowboy won...nor do I believe that the steer won. The cowboy got the pin, but the steer took out the back of the cowboy's shirt!

I have been viewing video lectures from a guy who works for Nat Geo. I have been applying what I learn and my fellow members in photo club keep telling me that I am a natural and that I don't need the videos... Do they think that I might be using what I am learning?? NOT! lol

the hummer I am using was printed and made into a cell phone case shot. When I broke my ankle in August, the nurse told me that I had a female Anna. I am definitely taking her word for this.

I was in the Portland Rose Garden and a fellow photographer from my club was trying to focus on this little buggar... when I realized what she was going for, I threw my camera into sport mode and took a great series of photos. It wasn't until I got home, that I even knew that I had captured her.

whew!!
