I just want to record my gut feelings for the rest of the hurricane season of 2011. I have nothing really to base this on other than my own gut feelings.
I think that we here in SETX will get little to nothing when it comes to tropical storms or hurricanes for at least the first half of September. But after that I think we will need to keep a much closer eye on the Gulf of Mexico. In recent years, it seems like it isn't until the last week or so of September before anything seriously threatens us here. I feel like it will be a little later, more like October, before we get anything (if at all) this year.
TS Lee has been nothing more than a teaser. At first it looked like it might do something here. But as time has worn on, it looks more and more like it wants to move more to the east. I know that much of LA has been almost as dry as we have, so I don't begrudge them the rain. I just hope that we get some, too, before everything either dries up and blows away, or catches fire.
Time will tell.
