Earlier this week Birdyboo and I were discussing how sometimes the seasons change rapidly. She suggested I start a blog on this topic, including my 'before' and 'after' photos displaying the effects of the recent rapid weather changes in my area...so here I am.
Photo #1 ("Before") was taken Saturday, 10/22. It was a very pleasant day; warm and sunny. The photo obviously shows very little snow on Mt Shasta, and the bright sun also supercharges the yellowing oak leaves on the foreground trees, making them an important co-star of the shot, along with the bright blue sky and the mtn.
Photo #2 ("After") was taken one week later, on 10/29. The high temp for that day was over 30 degrees cooler than the previous Saturday, and there was a bone-chilling breeze and a hazy, somewhat cloudy sky. In this shot, Mt Shasta demands much more attention largely due to its new white gown of snow. Without a bright sun and a clear blue sky, the oak leaves are now subdued.
Autumn is probably where we see the effects of the most dramatic seasonal changes in such a short period of time. Do you have some 'before' and 'after' shots illustrating rapid seasonal changes in your part of the world that you'd like to share?
