Animals, weather and stories
HI WUFRIENDS!
I watched a little doggie die on a heap of trash in India, many years ago. I will never forget that dog. I caressed it and cried my eyes out. But, before the light in his eyes grew dim, he saw and felt my Love. And I was forever changed.
EVERY ACTION OF OUR LIVES TOUCHES ON SOME CHORD THAT WILL VIBRATE IN ETERNITY.
When we help those who suffer, we may never know the results, but one thing is sure: We are making this world a better place - and I wanna be part of it.
TODAY I DECIDED IT’S GONNA BE A GREAT DAY... SO FAR I HAVE:
-Helped protect 11.4 square feet of rainforest habitat for wildlife.
-Given 1.1 cups of food to the hungry.
-Helped another woman in need get a free mammogram.
-Given .6 bowls of food for rescued animals.
-Helped a homeless and hungry veteran get a free meal.
-Helped provide therapy for children living with autism and their families.
-Helped a child with lifesaving health care.
-Helped give a child in need a book to read and treasure.
YOU MAY THINK FINN’S BEEN REAL BUSY – LOL! NOOOPE. TOOK ME 19 MOUSE CLICKS AND 43 SECONDS TO DO ALL THE ABOVE HERE:
There are 8 small buttons above the green “Click Here to Give - it’s FREE” - button:
Hunger, Breast Cancer, Animals, Veterans, Autism, Child Health, Literacy, Rainforest.
WHY CLICK? Because of this story:
A man walked along the shore scattered with thousands of starfish, beached and dying after a storm. A young boy was picking them up, one by one, and throwing them back into the ocean. "Why bother?" asked the man. "You're not saving enough to make a difference". The boy picked up another starfish and sent it spinning back into the water. "Made a difference to that one", he replied.

My old blog had a plea for passing the word around on behalf of two senior dogs, MAX & JOHNNY, who needed a home. Thank you, all you angels, who cared and shared their story. I GOT GREAT NEWS TODAY...
A wonderful lady adopted them both! Now they are happy, running and playing with her young puppy on a green lawn. This made my day, my week, my month... and will be one of the best news of this YEAR OF THE DRAGON!
THERE ARE ANGELS AMONG US - DISGUISED AS "NORMAL" PEOPLE... They care, they make things happen. They save lives. Like PORTLIGHT. Check them to see how they do it - THEY ROCK!

Life is precious and laughter prolongs life. Here are a couple of timeless "pearls"...
THANK YOU FOR VISITING - YOUR COMMENTS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!

Hi Finn!!!!
I have not forgotten, we must set up a lunch date at some point this spring or summer...
Feb & March are already full but April is still "open".
Let me know when you are free for a Monday lunch date! I don't mind driving up or meeting you somewhere in the middle.
You know I love that raw bar in Lake Worth, isn't it Dave's??? I've mentioned it to you before.
Their soup is just wonderful!!!
I try & feed the animals daily:)
now much feed the animls.
Hi Finn!!
Hi Gams!
Sorry to hear that Skye :(
I'm also voting for APR, after the purple click (just above it there's a button "Help your favorite shelter win in our $300,000 Shelter Challenge").
You REALLY should come here on the weekend of Feb 25th and 26th! We are celebrating the biggest event of the year (and the world's largest too!) - THE LAKE WORTH STREET PAINTING FESTIVAL!
And it's my birthday that Sunday... :) The grey asphalt streets of Lake Avenue and Lucerne turn into a fabulous, colorful Art Gallery about 5 blocks long, painted by artists of all ages. It's always great fun with a lot going on. Live music, good food, nice stores, K9 unit dogvisits, etc. If you want to come, WU-mail me! Our STORE is right in the center of all action :)
yes, fed the pups again.
I have always wanted to go to the Lake Worth Street Painting festival.. I see pictures every year and I love it.
But something always comes up.
Betsey and Scott will be in town that weekend (and weekend before)..they are going on a Mon - Fri cruise with his parents so they will be with us on Sat & Sun those weekends. And we don't get to see them often because they live in Boston.
If anything happens and we can come up that Sunday I will let you know.
It is a beautiful story, and truly illustrates that even though you might feel helpless to save the world, you CAN save a little piece of it. We can't all do something huge, but we can all do something that matters.
You are an Angel Finn. Thanks for doing your part.
No, I don't always post, but I do check in here when I get a chance.
You Done Good!
Wonderful photos of the dogs, too. Now, I'm off to click. ;)
THIS video (rated R for language) taken a few hours ago is a good reminder to keep a safe distance and reduce speed during bad road conditions.
Temps were -10F

happy Saturday!
I'm down with a flu, been sick for 2 weeks and counting... :(
Does anyone know how long this year's flu virus bothers people?
Dau was sick for 3 weeks and ended up taking antibiotics because she got high fever too. I'm resisting taking them as no fever present. Just on e-cigs, rest, lots of Tahitian Noni juice, Echinacea-tea and Eucalyptus-oil steam-breathing.
I guess I'll survive, but it p*$$*$ me off to be sick, stay at home and do nothing for such a long time :(
Thanks for letting me vent... Oh... Wait a minute! It's MY blog... and I vent if I want to, vent if I want to!" - LOL!
Hope you feel all better soon:)
vent if I want to, vent if I want to.
You would vent too if it happened to you!"
Hope you are feeling better soon!
uncommon sense now to slow down in foul weather...scary!
Get well soon! ,-)
{{{iyou}}} good to see you girl! Hope you're safe and... errr... don't wanna say "sound" as you'll never be that - hopefully! lol
Got a great herbal flu syrup recipe, feeling better already - thanks to {{{Skye}}}!
Here's to celebrate it
LOL
That vid is great!
Glad you are feeling better.

Hope your taking it easy. Things going around recently seem to linger or comeback if you do too much.
One of the kids is coming down sick tonight. I should go sleep.
LOL Skye, my first thought was to eat it! I've had a minor relapse, coughing some more, but maybe it's just Qigong cleaning my lungs :) How are the kids?
Been out and about for almost a week, as I was invited to speak at the authors forum and then spent long days selling my book at the Lake Worth Finlandia Days Festival. OMG, I ate sooo much... all them goodies from my native country right there, fresh and delicious. I'm still stuffed, but that made up for 4 weeks of not eating too much!
Who knows where to get good strawberry plants? I bought a cool planter last week and can't wait to fill all the holes in it.
Happy Happy Birthday to you!!!!
Have a very special day!

LMAO. WUMBAHOOF!
Happy Birthday, Finn!
Happy Birthday Finn!
Best wish's for a great evening from us in New Orleans and NOLA Roux too.
.."Woof"
Hope they painted the streets of Lake Worth awash in an array of dazzling colors in your honor, of course!
;)
Lake Worth Finlandia Days Festival sounds like a festival made for you. I bet you enjoyed.
Sorry to see your relapse. Trick is weeks of rest. Nasty stuff going around this year. Kids brought home more last week. The one that missed the upchuck fest a few months ago made up & we all got something snotty.
Atleast when we are baking this summer we can rejoice in the lack of 30+º temp changes from day to day..
Thank you {{{gams}}}, {{{Pros}}}, {{{BF}}}, {{{Karen}}}, {{{Rob}}}, {{{Hyper}}}, {{{Jeff}}}, {{{Pat & Nola Roux}}}, {{{Shore}}}, {{{Doc}}} and {{{Skye}}}!!!
I have totally recovered from the flu and now writing with full inspiration! My book designer, in charge of preparing the English version of Kun Lun, broke her back :( and that has delayed the publishing, but it will come out soon (how many times have I promised that...?) A few more weeks and it'll be available.
And yes, I enjoyed the Finlandia Days and the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival held to honor MY 62 circles around the sun! :D
Thank you friends, your visits warmed my heart and this blog.
And since this IS a weather blog... enjoy Flanders & Swann singing "A song of the weather"
I am so glad they didn't say December! Can you imagine the chaos?
Is a shame that we don't have a system to deal with this yet. But hey, the Russians still have rockets. Maybe they can deal with it!
:o)
That's cute. I think you had the pup concerned. In fact all the giggling got my dog excited too!
You got some moves girl!!
Thanks for the smile!
