While keeping an eye on the tropics this summer, I'm looking forward to having time to post some fun stuff every now and then... But first things first: It is THE YEAR OF THE TIGER and - according to old Chinese wisdom - if you visit a Tiger's house during the this year, you'll be safe.

THE HOT SUMMER IS A VERY DANGEROUS TIME FOR PETS. EVERY YEAR, COUNTLESS DOGS DIE AFTER OVERHEATING INSIDE PARKED CARS. ON A RELATIVELY MILD 70-DEGREE DAY, THE TEMPERATURE INSIDE A PARKED CAR CAN REACH 120 DEGREES IN MINUTES, EVEN WITH THE WINDOWS SLIGHTLY OPEN. LEAVING YOUR DOG IN THE CAR WHILE YOU RUN ERRANDS COULD LEAD TO TRAGEDY.
IF YOU SEE A DOG IN A CAR, EVEN WITH WINDOWS OPEN, OLEASE WAIT A FEW MINUTES ND SEE IF THE OWNER ARRIVES. IF THE DOG IS PANTING AND LOOKS DIZZY, CALL 911. YOU MAT SAVE THAT DOG’S LIFE.

I still continue with my mission to help abandoned and abused animals, so please check out this YAHOO-powered web search engine called GOODSEARCH. YOU CAN HELP TOO: ONE CLICK = ONE CENT! My charity of choice is Abandoned Pet Rescue, Fort Lauderdale, FL, but you can choose your own charity. The same site has expanded to a long list of online shops called GOODSHOP. Lots of stores (Ebay and dozens more!) listed there will give a donation to various charities when you buy stuff online and it won't cost you a dime.
