THE HURRICANE SEASON IS BACK AND THERE ARE STILL PETS FROM EARLIER SEASONS WAITING TO FIND A HOME.
MANY OTHERS FILL THE SHELTERS ALL YEAR LONG.
Abandoned and abused animals - like all pets - need love, patience, and good amount of training to adjust to a new life in a family. Most people prefer to get young pets, but some look for adult ones, and there are advantages and disadvantages to both. And both options are good when an animal finds a loving home! I've had many dogs, from expensive pure breed show dogs to mixed breed companions, and I have loved them all the same. But I doubt we'll ever get a pet that is not from a rescue shelter.
If we can't have pets at home, we can volunteer to walk them, wash them, or just give them love and companionship in one of the hundreds of rescue shelters around the country. And if we have room in our hearts and homes, whether we already have a pet or not, let's consider this:
There are about 200.000 animals looking for a home right now.
cgableshurrycanegal is tied to several adopting and rescue organisations.
Here are some useful links for pet adoption info, Iíll add more if you post them:
Here is one more link for those of you that have large animals. It is for the Florida SART team. They are by all accounts the best team in the country for large animal/agriculture disaster issues. Lot's of good info here too.
ENJOY YOUR FRIENDS, WHETHER TWO, THREE, OR FOUR LEGGED, AND HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!
