Virginia Beach Weather

The National Weather Service is predicting a hotter than usual summer for the Southeast. We certainly had some summer-like weather early this year, hitting 88 degrees on March 15. April was about average and May started out above normal but has cooled down a bit since, especially here near the coast. It looks like summer will make it's entrance right on time for the Memorial Day weekend, with temperatures predicted in the mid and upper 80's for the weekend and into next week.

There are plans to eventually extend Nimmo Trail from Lago Mar to the Sandbridge. It is currently half way there. We anxiously await city approval to finish the last mile and a half through Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge to the Atlantic Ocean. For more information and to support the project, Link

Where is Lago Mar? We are about 2 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, as the crow flies. It is about a 5 minute drive down Sandbridge Road to Sandbridge Beach. One might say that we are the gateway to the Outer Banks of Virginia. We are on the northern tip of the Back Bay of the Currituck Sound. All water in Lago Mar drains to Back Bay through deep water canals. We are in the area formerly known as Princess Anne Borough. We are lucky enough to still have the 23456 zi...
