I'm just a 23 year old with an ardent passion for weather. I first became aware of this interest after Tropical Storm Isidore struck my area in 2002.

How many tropical storms do you think there will be this hurricane season?
Obviously right now, it's too early to tell how many storms we will have, being that it's only March 9th, but still, we can speculate. We'll have a better idea of how many storms we might get this hurricane season in the Atlantic once May comes around, cause we will have a better idea of how strong the developing La Nina might be, and what effect it might have on the 2007 Atlantic hurricane season. Anyway, this blog is meant for anyone who reads this (if they want to; don't feel pressured) to post their predictions on how much storms the reader thinks we will have this hurricane season. I will make another blog at the beginning of hurricane season, stating how much storms I think we'll have. Anyway, here are my predictions, both for the Atlantic, and the East Pacific (take note I won't predict how many storms I think we'll have each MONTH in the East Pacific like I will the Atlantic):
Named Storms: 16-18
Major Hurricanes: 3-4
Named Storms: 9-11
Major Hurricanes: 1
Now, for how many storms I predict to form in each month:
1 storm, 0 hurricanes (30%)
2 storms, possibly 1 hurricane, though not major (35%)
3 storms, 1-2 hurricanes (40%)
3 storms, 2 hurricanes, one major (65%)
5 storms, 3 hurricanes, 2 major hurricanes (70%)
2 storms, 1 hurricane, one major hurricane (50%)
1 storm, no hurricanes (40%)
This forecast may be upped or downed at the start of hurricane season, when I will post my predictions again, since I'll have a much better idea of just how things are going to pan out this hurricane season.
I wish you all a safe hurricane season, and a great year!
Be prepared everyone.
Remember, post your predictions via comments! :)
