Old Man Winters Shows No Signs of Stopping in Southern Ohio

Howdy Folks,

How is everyone?

Old Man Winter has been slamming us with the snow, and system after system.

We had our first round of snow Friday night with most locations receiving a good two to four inches, causing some very slick travel.

The second round of snow came on Sunday morning dropping over three inches in the area, and the low temperatures keeping the snow around caused over 67 school delays, not counting the schools in Kentucky and West Virginia closed and delayed!

And in the early hours of Tuesday morning, two different systems dropped a quick coating to three inches locally in just a few hours, and moved away quickly causing even more delays and slick travel.

The melting of snow from these systems, and the low temperatures late in the night has been causing black ice all over.

And I thought we were going to get a break until the weekend, but as I write this, some small showers are popping up to the west, and could cause some light accumulation in our area, and a system coming from Northern Ohio could cause some flakes to fall in the mountains of West Virginia.

Also, as a pressure system moves through the region, we could see temperatures in the mid-teens, and our high for Thursday will be just under 30F, and as this system leaves the region, we will get a quick break because on Friday, the high will be in the mid-40's, and then we will get a nice wintry mix on Saturday morning.

After all of this, I do not expect Old Man Winter to give up any time soon, and I think I see a lot more in our near future. I thought we would see a maximum of 24 inches of snow through February, but I think my totals will be blown right out of the water.

I guess we will see.

I will keep you updated.
