Good Afternoon! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 69 and it feels like 69. Wind Advisory in effect for North MS until 6am Wednesday morning. Winds of 25-30mph with gusts up to 40mph are expected. Highs will continue to range between 54 and 72 with lows between 33 and 59. There is a slight chance of rain today and Wednesday. Significant severe weather outbreak likely tonight into early Wednesday morning. Main threats will be for heavy rain, large hail, tornadoes (a few of which could be strong), and damaging winds of 70-80mph. Dr. Greg Forbes, severe weather expert at The Weather Channel, is giving North MS a TOR:CON (Tornado Condition Index) of a 6 out of 10 for tonight. This means that there is a 60% chance of seeing a tornado within a 50 mile radius. Timing of these storms will be from 9pm Tuesday night to 3am Wednesday morning for Western half of MS and from 2am to 7am Wednesday morning for the Eastern half of MS. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 66 and it feels like 66. Todays high is 70 and a low of 56 with a slight chance of rain. Wednesdays high is 60 with a slight chance of rain.
