Good Morning and Merry Christmas Eve! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 55 and it feels like 55. Highs will continue to range between 44 and 65 with lows between 26 and 43. There is a slight chance of rain today and a 100% chance of thunderstorms on Tuesday. Some storms could be strong to severe on Tuesday with the main threats being for large hail, damaging winds, tornadoes, heavy rainfall of 2-3 inches, and flash flooding. Dr. Greg Forbes, the severe weather expert at The Weather Channel, is giving a 5 out of 10 on the TOR:CON (Tornado Condition Index) for Central and South MS and 3 out of 10 for North MS for Tuesday. This means that there is a 30%-50% chance of seeing a tornado within a 50 mile radius. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 54 and it feels like 54. Todays high is 62 and a low of 43 with a slight chance of rain. Tuesdays high is 62 with a 100% chance of heavy thunderstorms.

Now, for your Winter/Severe Weather Update for the Southeast Region. There could be severe weather and winter weather potential around December 24th-27th. Severe weather potential possibly around December 29th, January 2nd-4th, 2013, and then again around January 7th-8th.

Hope yall have a wonderful Christmas Eve and I'll have another post tomorrow morning.
