Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 61 and it feels like 61. Highs will continue to range between 85 and 92 with lows between 63 and 69. No rain this week. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 66 and it feels like 66. Today’s high is 92 with a low of 64. Fridays high is 91.

Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, we now have Tropical Storm Isaac. Winds are at 40mph with a pressure of 1004mbars. Movement is West at 12mph. Expected to become a hurricane by Friday morning. Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect from Puerto Rico to the U.S. Virgin Islands and then from Barbuda to Dominica, for the Northern Dominican Republic. Tropical Storm Watch is up for the Turks/Caicos and the Southern Bahamas. Hurricane Warning is up for Haiti and the Southern side of the Dominican Republic. Path of Isaac, which remains uncertain, looks like it will head into the Gulf of Mexico. In the Atlantic, we now have Tropical Depression Ten. Winds are at 35mph with a pressure of 1007mbars. Movement is West-Northwest at 16mph. Expected to become a tropical storm later today and headed toward Bermuda. Also, in the Atlantic, showers and thunderstorms near the West coast of Africa are associated with a tropical wave. Development is expected to be slow to occur and the National Hurricane Center is giving this system a low chance, 10%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours as it moves Westward at about 15mph. In the Eastern Pacific, all is quiet.

Hope yall are having a great Thursday and I'll have another post tomorrow morning.

Your welcome. It looks to me like, as of now, that Isaac may be a threat to the Central Gulf Coast more than Florida. It is not definite and this could change, but thats what I am going with for now.

Thanks Johnny. In my opinion, Issac looks like he could eventually become a Gomex event. I guess you'll be "on your toes" about this by next week. Be safe.
