There is a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms today and Wednesday. Few storms could be strong to severe with large hail and damaging winds. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 70 and it feels like 70. Today’s high is 88 with a low of 66. Wednesdays high is 89. Main threats on Thursday into Friday will be large hail and damaging winds. Secondary threats will be heavy rain and flash flooding.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, broad area of low pressure located 1100 miles Southeast of Bermuda is producing minimal shower activity. No significant development is expected with this system in the next couple of days. However, after that time, conditions may become more favorable for development. The National Hurricane Center is now giving this system a low chance, 20%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours as it moves West-Northwestward at about 20mph. Also, in the Atlantic, remnants of Tropical Depression Seven are located over the Central Caribbean Sea and moving Westward at around 20mph. Environmental conditions are not expected to be conducive for regeneration and this system has a low chance, 20%, of becoming a tropical cyclone again during the next 48 hours. The remnants of Tropical Depression Seven are expected to move into Central America later today. In the Eastern Pacific, we have Tropical Storm Hector. Winds are at 45mph with a pressure of 997mbars. Movement is West at 6mph. Hector is weakening and should become a tropical depression by late Wednesday night.
