Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 74 and it feels like 74. Heat Advisory is in effect for North MS until 7pm Thursday night. Heat index between 107 to 109 is likely. Highs will continue to range between 91 and 98 with lows between 69 and 74. Slight chance of rain today, but better chance of rain Friday. Few storms could be strong to severe with large hail and gusty winds. Heavy rain and localized flash flooding will also be a threat. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 78 and it feels like 78. Today’s high is 96 with a low of 76. Fridays high is 94.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, all is quiet. In the Eastern Pacific, shower and thunderstorm activity has increased with the area of low pressure , which is located about 1400 miles Southeast of the southern tip of Baja California. Environmental conditions remain marginally conducive for a tropical depression to form during the next couple of days. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a low chance, 20%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours as it moves West or West-Northwest at 10 to 15mph.
