Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 85and it feels like 87. Highs will continue to range between 93 and 99 with lows between 65 and 73. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 88 and it feels like 88. Today’s high is 95 with a low of 70. Sundays high is 98.

Now, for your tropical update. Chris has dissipated over the North Atlantic. In the Atlantic, the center of circulation of the broad area of low pressure over the Gulf of Mexico appears to be becoming better defined about 275 miles South-Southeast of the Mississippi River. In addition, showers and thunderstorms have been increasing over the Eastern Gulf of Mexico and a NOAA buoy located about 130 miles East-Northeast of the center has produced tropical-storm force winds within the past couple of hours. A tropical depression or more likely a tropical storm could form later today if current trends continue. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a high chance, 90%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours as it moves slowly Northward. Tropical Storm Warnings and Watches may be required for portion of the Northern Gulf Coast over the weekend. Heavy rain/flooding is likely across the Yucatan Peninsula, Western Cuba, and Southern Florida over the next day or so. An Air Force Reserve Reconnaissance Aircraft is scheduled to investigate the system this afternoon, if necessary. In the Eastern Pacific, all is quiet.

Hope yall are having a great Saturday and I'll have another post tomorrow. Continue to pray for the tornado victims and those affected by damaging weather events.
